I'm loving this show, I'm glad there is some good slice of life shows this season.

One question I have maybe some one can answer, I keep hearing Souta call Rinko "anaki". I thought that that meant big brother/bro, am I wrong or hearing wrong, or something else?

You're mishearing - he's saying "Aneki", which refers to a female older sibling. The male version you're thinking of is "Aniki", which is very similar.

The starting kanji used in aniki and aneki is the same starting kanji that's found in Onii-chan/Onee-chan for example. Just another case of the Japanese language having many ways of saying the same thing with different feelings for each.

Thanks for the explanation.

Just loving this anime more and more .

I was cracking up the very beginging when the sister Rinko woke up the boys from Poco's cries and interrogated them whose kid Poco was
That was pretty funny .

But its always nice to see in anime when a specific actual location is featured - Yashima , of Kagawa prefecture especially Yashimaji http://flickrhivemind.net/Tags/kagawa,yashimaji, it is the eighty-fourth temple on the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage.

It makes for more pilgrimage from anime lovers

My heart can barely stand such wholesome adorableness! This is everything I wished Sweetness and Lightning would have been. Not since Usagi Drop have I been so disappointed that I'll probably never be a father. But then I see real kids and remember "Oh yeah, I'm actually pretty lucky"

But still, this show just warms my heart so much.

It's going to give me a heart attack! S.O.S. !

Episode 5

It's back to Nakajima as this time, Souta and Poco meet his parents. First, a trip down memory lane going back to school, and they were called back when he thought that his father broke his back. But it turned out that he only freaked out because of a falling caterpillar. The Nakajimas sure have quite an extravagant house complete with a garden and an onsen. In any case, that was nice, but now the time has come for Souta to return to Tokyo.

Episode 5

That was a fun episode. From the onsen to the usual Poko cuteness, I think the episode captured the realism of slice of life.

Not sure how I feel about Shinobu showing up again. I mean, he's also an unique character despite his tough personality and also kinda interesting to see some of his childhood. Not sure what that ending is about...something or someone in trouble and they need Souta's help?...

What a big dog

This show is such a good commentary on the struggles of your late 20's/early 30's when you are a bit lost with where your career/home life is going. It's very relatable. Though I could use a cute tanuki kid in my life.

Poco's Udon World EP 5 "Chicken on the Bone"

A really good slice of life ep Just so many good moments. It's interesting as Souta's dad wanted him to take over the Udon shop and the same is with Nakajima whose dad wants him to take over a hospital His dad hert his back and they dontb see eye to eye . But after a visit to a Hot Spring and cirumansrances there Nakajima goes home with his dad who was raising pineapples and Nakajima cuts one and share with his dad / mom. Meanwhile Souta gets an emergency call from work.

Poco is actually smart about people's personas !

Episode 6

It's back to Tokyo as there's a massive project going on with the deadline coming right up, and Souta has to bring Poco with him. While Souta is frantically working to meet the deadline, Poco is not feeling too well, and that's a problem compounded by the fact that he's a tanuki. As if things couldn't get worse, Hiroshi drops by to took at him while his ears and tail are out. But Hiroshi doesn't seem to be aware. So in the end, Souta quits his job effective at the end of the project and returns to Kagawa, and he goes out with Dahama and Hiroshi to Tokyo Tower. That was nice to see that Souta's perspective has changed and that he was not afraid to speak his mind seeing that things just aren't going to work out with Poco around.
