I've been watching anime since the Sailor Moon days. So around 20 years. Let's say I know my shit.

Most Underrated is-

Welcome to the NHK!, One of the few animes where dub does a better job than the sub

Magic Kaito 1412- How did this anime not explode like detective conan?

Ace No Diamond- The best sport's anime created as to date. Onegayshield is nowhere near this level of awesomeness.

Haikyu is the best sports anime to date.... and I don't even like volleyball...

What's funny is I played Volleyball in college and thought Haikyu was good. But Diamond No Ace, you can never tell the direction of the MC development. Haikyu is the typical cliche sports anime. I'm sorry man. I love sports anime, Diamond No Ace pace might be slower, but you get awesome soundtracks, unpredictable story and character development, his rival teammate is always fucking one uping him, the supporting characters are awesome to watch. Ace No Diamond is the Hunter X Hunter of sports anime.

Well we're gonna have different opinions. I probably don't have it rated as high as you do because I think major is the best baseball anime. And only 4 or 5 people throw Gyro balls so I don't want to hear that lol. Also I think baby steps is more h x h.

Scrapped Princess, really good but a little bit unknown

Totally agree, for those of you who aren't in the know, It's by the same source Writer, The same Director and Studio as Chaika The Coffin Princess. While there are similarities between the 2 series, I thought Scrapped Princess stuck the landing better.

(My avatar is from Scrapped Princess too)

Other ones I'd add:

Tears to Tiara.
Not sure if underrated or simply too old; but I haven't seen that name being posted anywhere for a long time.

Chihayafuru is best sports anime

Blue Seed - yes dated (1990s) but its what Inuyasha could have been with a plot and a great ending

If you enjoy Top gearish motorcycle trolling then the 1st half of Bakuon is excellent

Somehow the original FMA has gone from being the most popular anime on earth to being underrated

One of my favorite shows, and hardly anyone ever know what I am talk about when I bring it up.

Mawaru Penguindrum is, in my mind, a masterpiece and yet no one seems to know what it is! Which really is sad because it is a fantastic show.

Yona of the Dawn is another anime that whenever I bring it up people don't seem to know what I am talking about, although I majorly blame that on the fact that it looks like another generic reverse harem instead of the fantastic adventure story that it is.

Hardly anyone seems to know about Garden of Sinners when I mention it to (Which surprised me, considering how big Ufotable is).

Not a person I've mentioned it to yet has known what Hanasaku Iroha is, which is a shame. It's not groundbreaking or anything but it's such a pleasant little show.

Chihayafuru is not nearly as popular as it should be. Here's hoping the new Sentai release helps get its name out there.

This. Even though it's ranked around 8.5 on MAL I feel like it's still criminally underrated. That one specific part in the anime almost made me drop the show but after I managed to get past it SSY became easily one of the best I've seen.
