Wolfs Rain (Most definitely, just re-watched this one and realized how absolutely no one ever talks about it, but it's so beyond incredible. Not to mention Yoko Kanno does the music)

Moribito (Pretty damn good actually, again no one talks about it)

The Twelve Kingdoms (Reminds me a little bit of Moribito. Even bought the book)

Bokura Ga Ita (I always watch those Top 10 Anime Romances, or best...but this one is scarce. It's hardly mentioned, yet one of the most intriguing REAL love stories.)

Mushishi
(Shall I say anything else? It's just for a particular audience I guess.)

Honey & Clover (One of the best slice of live animes I've ever watched. When someone brings up the genre, I instantly think this)

Hyouka (A gem for sure. I'm pretty positive that this show hasn't even gotten a dub. Wtf?)

Kaleido Star (This is like the underrated show of what Princess Tutu is. Sounds girly and cheesy, but freakin' fantastic for all audiences.)

Great Teacher Onizuka (Classic comedy, comeee on!)

To reiterate what plenty of others have already said in this thread (cause it's too true): Shin Sekai Yori (from the new world). This was an amazing show, and yet I'm surprised how little attention it gets. Don't get me wrong though, that might be for the best because I would hate for it to get super popular and then torn apart by all the people who just hate popular anime. I think it's fine where it is, as it's mal score shows it is very much respected and appreciated.

what about Ookami-san and her seven companions? A lot of people I've told about the series have either never heard of it or haven't seen it.

Those meowing fists of rage. The evil in the red hood, Ringo. The shylent assassin-hunter. What isn't there to love?

Hell, I'd like a release of Hyouka...never mind a dub.
I'm not sure a dub would be worth it, too many cultural references.

Gosick: Unfairly maligned Bones series with a great main cast and storylines that explore the show's overall political aspects of its city. Would love CR to bring this back on its website.

Nanana's Buried Treasure: An A-1 Pictures adaptation that's very colorful, has interesting characters with inventive puzzles.

Kyokai no Rinne: Nice 90s-00s shonen throwback series based on the manga from the creator of Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha.

Heavy Object: An entertaining mecha acition-adventure from the creator of the Raildex Universe (Give us seasons for these shows J.C.Staff!!!)

Heaven's Memo Pad: An action dramedy involving the NEET Detective Agency. Has amazing storylines that talk about Japan's many social issues. Its cast of characters are a delight solving cases that involve said social issues.

Punchline: Its first few episodes may not be much as first but looking at them closely, they lead to a lot of twist and turns that can make a lot of sense after rewatching it again.

Flowers of Evil: Great mind-wrecking subversion of your typical high-school dramedy. Art style may put you off.

Kokoro Connect: A nice, little quirky take of your typical high-school dramedy with some interesting fantasy tropes. Main cast has a lot of heart and charm that will grab you.

@amhester

you beat me too it. I binged Shinsekai Yori (From the New World) a few weeks ago and was stunned that I hadn't seen it before. Definitely a Dark, low key thinking person's anime. It wasn't perfect, but I highly recommend it.

Also do not be fooled by the dumb cover (which makes zero sense) since this anime is DARK.

and it's on CrunchyRoll: http://www.crunchyroll.com/shin-sekai-yori-from-the-new-world

Seikon no Qwaser

Even though the series is extremely sexual and perverted it has an amazing storyline. It talk a lot about how different elements effect one another which makes the fights between different element users really awesome to watch.

Witch Hunter Robin: (from the early 2000s)

Terrific action series that should've gotten more attention than it did. Funi supposedly has this; let's hope they work on this next for their bringing back old Bandai properties.
