Well, see, "didn't know" is kind of what "ignorant" means.

"he was told constantly that he was ignorant and stupid"

From that statement, you are saying that everyone should "assume" that everyone else is Black, and take action based on that. Right? That's racist. Reverse Racism, to be exact. Treat Black people better than you would a White person, because you might cause trouble if it was a Black guy. Right?

That's what's wrong with many arguments that run along those lines. And the reason such erroneous arguments are made is because the media does not cover the issues in an even manner. Most of the media covers news that happen in big cities. Big cities all make up a small portion of the American population. The rest of the American population all live in small towns and in rural communities. And there is tons of crime happening in those small towns and rural communities that don't make the news. The majority of the people who live in those small towns and rural communities are White.

The major news outlets are all in the big cites, so the people who work in for those news outlets all work in the big cities. Why go across the U.S. to a farming community to cover a murder, when there are murders happening down the street from the office? Why cover a story of a sheriff's deputy shooting a White kid holed up in a barn, when they can cover a shooting of a Black teen in a high school, in town?

There are 350,000,000 Americans in the United States, about 100,000,000 of them live in big cities. The rest live in small towns and rural communities. However, the stuff that makes the news is the stuff that happens in big cities. That's because that's where the "journalists" live and work in.

Except that statistics show that more whites are shot by police than black, period.

More whites are arrested than blacks, period.

That's a fact. Check whatever database you like.

But more blacks are in prison. So how does that work, exactly?

Are cops just arresting innocent white people for no reason and then letting them go?

Why aren't you mad about that?

We're just hearing one side of the story. For all we know, his 2 am noise could have also been loud music and a party as well. I'd like to hear the side of the story from the neighbor who wrote the complaint. Maybe this sort of thing happens often in the apartment complex and the man is just sick of it. If you've never lived in a dorm or apartment, you have no idea as to how inconsiderate people can be. I remember having one neighbor who decided to try out his new sound system by watching a Star Wars film at 2 am, the night before I had finals.

As someone who works shifts, I know how difficult it is when the rest of the world wants to sleep and you just got home and wanna relax. Although I have my own home so I don't need to worry about people above or below me, I still am considerate to my neighbors. I do r get home at 3 am and decide that that would be the perfect time to open the windows and sing opera (I have a neighbor that does this nightly at 10 pm).

Agreed. On top of that, I'd also ask to see the complete original letter. The article didn't post the it, but if there aren't any remarks about "race" in the original letter, it nullifies the whole "white man, black man" race card. And from the the few sentences that was posted, there doesn't seem to be any remarks about race - making it a BS race bait title.

On top of that, I think articles like this are trash because they use race bait, click bait BS titles. They post the complete second letter while only showing part of the first letter. Rather than objective, investigative journalism that makes Freedom of Speech send chills down the spine of any would be wrongdoer, It's instead one sided, low quality journalism that caters towards the lowest common denominator.

reminds me of how I got a noise complain from my neighbor and I slammed the door in his face mid-sentence and went about my business.

He'd knock again, I'd answer, slam the door. Repeat for a few times till he gave up.

Seriously though. I really done see it as necessary to call the police. Inform the landlord and go from there. Thats seriously a waste of police time.

Yes. Thats the second letter; they showed the whole thing. But I saw no image of the entire first letter. They quoted some text from it, but did not show the entire first letter like the second one.

It could've been resolved peacefully, but the neighbor just had to turn into a racial topic.

Hmm i've put letters in neighbours mail boxes about their fucking annoying barking dogs, never even considered that even something like that could possibly be considered racist.
Sad times, sad times that we live in.
I swear racisim was slowly becoming less and less common but now it's almost an an all time high. But not actual racisim. It's the new age meaning of the word.... It's sad.

Its fine to ignore that the majority of whites in these stats are arrested once while the majority of blacks are multiple time felons with arrest records longer than your arm.

While recidivism rates among blacks DO exceed 50%, recidivism among whites is about 40%.

TECHNICALLY the "majority" does fall the way you describe. But it's a majority by less than 10% on both sides of that fence, so it doesn't explain the LARGE discrepancy in prison populations.

You're also trying to claim that no, the police do not arrest innocent white people - they just let guilty ones go.

As if this is somehow an improvement.
