I'm pretty sure I know I was born on 1990. And really I'm turning 26 this year, but I guess you are me?

So when you where 6 you got a job and bought your own games impressive. No maybe stop taking offense to a complete stranger who types some random bs at 4 in the mourning and ask your "real freinds" a stupid question like is console gaming alive ya'know that thing I went out and got a job for when you was 6.

I know you totally stepped on a land mine now let it go.

Stop taking things out of context. My parents obviously bought my game consoles when I was young. But I guess I have to really clarify that for the downies.

I don't think so. NX is coming out with Zelda Breath of the Wild which is suppose to be better than the WiiU version. So i am looking forward to that :). I think 2017 or 2018 will be a good year for games

Depends on the franchise (Final Fantasy for example is a dying series of console games) and the game that might be the best console game in years is Valkyria: Azure Revolution. Legend of Heroes games are definitely here to stay, just look at Trails of Cold Steel.

Dead? No, definitely not. However, with the PS Pro and Xbox Scorpio there really are less reasons than before to go console than PC. Not having to upgrade to stay current was one of the biggest benefits to console but now that is going out the window. Consoles also aren't really as "just insert game and play" as they used to be either with pretty much every game requiring patching and installing now.

Really the only real advantages consoles have now are a lower initial buy in cost if you're starting from scratch and exclusive games. Both, though, can be huge advantages and can't be discounted regardless of how much you personally love your PC.

For me? I love too many console exclusives to drop console gaming any time soon. But I will readily admit that both Sony and MS requiring mid generation hardware upgrades to stay up to date has pushed me to just upgrade my PC instead since I'd be spending the money anyway.

console games are dead.. just like Tvs are also dead.. or so they said 3-4 years ago

something about smartphones and tablets will kill consoles and tvs ?

you check the tv section now a day.. the tvs are getting bigger and bigger

let's face it.. some like it big

i like to play games on my 50 in tv with a controller instead of poking at the glass screen

mobile games are not for me

$300 for a console +$24 for a gamefly membership = gaming on a budget

I'm a console player through and through: Atari 2600-->SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, Xbox, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox360, PS3, Wii, WiiU, PS4....not even going to mention the hand helds, I've purchased.

Could never quite get into PC gaming even though I've had over 7 PCs and 7 Laptops. Although I must admit the gaming selection has greatly increased since th mid 90's I'm just stuck in my ways. Never got into Smartphone/mobile gaming scene either. My nephew and nieces seem to enjoy it quite a bit though *feels old*

The console is just underpowered and Microsoft, Sony especially Nintendo did a poor job beefing up their machines.

With the Scorpio however its a more powerful console but it wont be out till next year and by time the specs on that console might get phased out "Probably already did".

The reason for owning a console was because of the power and exclusives "For me anyway" but the games are all going multi plat so it feels like it does not matter where you play that game might be there.

Not in the slightest, the younger generations will always be subject to buying consoles for the sole handiness and the more comfortable "Grab and go" aspect of just grabbing a remote and having things turned on without any need of customisation. I personally prefer PC gaming because there's little to no latency with commands and it's just better, lol.

I wouldn't even dare think consoles are dead. PC might hold the possibility of having superior graphics, processing speeds, etc. but they're just not as accessible as a console.

First of all, they are expensive (you've probably heard this one "myth" before). The truth is, a pre-built machine is expensive and not everyone has the time, means or the know-how to buy parts individually and assemble a custom PC.

Then there's the maintenance. PC's become outdated really fast, if you want to stay on the edge you gotta keep upgrading your GPU a bit too often. At times a gaming PC is more trouble than the fun of games.

Lastly, and this is a very personal thing: I just perform better in PS. I've had PS consoles since childhood, it is where I'm trained. I am a very ineffective player when using a mouse and keyboard. Like seriously, WASD is extremely uncomfortable for me.

But that's just me.

Xbox is the closest. Most really popular Xbox games come to PC.
PS4 and Nintendo still have excluses that dont come to PC though.
Like The Last Of Us Remastered and almost every game by Quantic Dreams. Plus Ps4 does get better graphics than the PC version most of the time but mainly because if the game isnt PS4 exclusive it comes to it much later than it does to other consoles like a year later with changed remastered graphics.

They are also releasing the Playstaion Pro (fuck that I'm not buying a whole new PS4 for 4k and 60 fps)
However Playstation Pro is coming out to keep up with PC with games like ME Andromeda coming out utilizing 4k and Detroit for the PS4 also utilizing 4k and most games on Pc ingeneral run at 60 fps and higher. Although unless you have the right monitor you may not tell a diffrence. I do,

graphic is not everything

i doubt all those users playing pokemon go are playing it for the graphic

the vita is pretty much dead now a day.. it's hard to find a new system now a day

graphic wise-- it can provide ps3 graphic compare to the 3DS.. but what happened?

graphic is not really the selling factor tbh.. it's nice to look at but if the system has few worthy games and no support from third party publishers.. it's pointless
