They made a dress code right after I left my school. All guys and girls had to wear a collar shirt and khaki shorts or pants. But you'd see some girls wearing shorts that seriously looked like they were a piece of leaf.

For girls - which I am - it's a white blouse, school skirt (it's a kind of gray-and-red plaid wool one) which is at most seven centimeters above the knee, and a school badge on the left breast. Socks should be white, gray, or red; nobody except me follows this rule - everyone else wears black because it looks better. Also, socks may not be ankle socks; they must be more than three inches above the ankle. In the winter, school sweatshirts are allowed; otherwise, sweaters should be red or gray (not maroon). Sweaters must also be V-neck, I think, and button-up types are allowed but zips are out . . . and, of course, sweater refers to that knitted-fabric-type piece of clothing, not a cloth thing. (In other words, it has to be able to unravel if you get a hole in it. Brilliant.) Shoes should not be dress shoes (this was the opposite several years ago until they changed the rule to spare the gym floor) and they must be at least 50% black, brown, gray, or red. White shoes are reserved for P.E. class and not allowed for everyday wear. (The old rule was black or brown dress shoes for outdoor shoes, red sneaker-type indoor shoes, and white sports shoes for P.E.) High school girls are allowed modest makeup; both high school and middle school girls may paint their nails a clear color. Hairstyles must not be distracting; jewelry is limited to one ring on each hand, a watch, and a chain necklace (pendants are only for religious purposes). A bone of contention between girls and the administration is the rule that only two piercings are allowed, on in each earlobe, and the earrings must be matched studs which are within the earlobe. Headbands are not allowed - this rule might as well not exist - and head coverings of any sort are not allowed in school, unless they are religious. A red ribbon or a necktie may be worn, in which case the blouse should be buttoned up to the top; otherwise, the first button may be open. In the summer, the blouse may be substituted by a school polo shirt with the school emblem - other polo shirts are no longer allowed. However, while the blouse must be tucked in, the polo shirt may remain untucked (this is a new rule beginning in the fall of 2007!). In both cases, since the blouse and polo shirt are white, bras should be white - failing that, a skin tone or pale color. Undershirts may be worn, but they must be white and have nothing written on them.

*sigh* And these are just the restrictions for girls, during the school year. I haven't even started on concert uniform, boys' uniform, or free dress rules.

dreamweaver49: wow, so strict even a rule for bras!

White collared shirts~
Blue tie with school emblem~
Grey skirt~
Grey socks/tights~
Black shoes~
Blazer~
And grey jumper, if you want~
Oh and no makeup and jewellery but not many follow those rules
Its actually alright, if you buy a nice skirt and jumper, imo anyway.

lol dreamweaver sounds a bit like our school

girls: white shirt with collar, school tie with maltese cross(our emblem) showing, top button done up cuffs rolled down and shirt tucked in, navy v-neck jumper allowed (with navy and white stripes on neck), one stud in each ear, minimal make up, navy skirt knee length (i think, but this was brought in after an article in the paper bout how the uniform is 2 slutty, so it didn;t go down 2 well, and all the girls roll their skirt up neway so im not really sure how long its meant to be), tights 60 denier (no sock if tights are worn), white socks knee length if no tights are worn, heels no bigger than 2 inches, and no pumps allowed

lower and upper 6th form girls have grey skirts instead of navy.

boys: white shirt with collar, school tie (same as girls) top button done up cuffs rolled down and shirt tucked in, grey v-neck jumper allowed (with navy and white stripes on neck), no earrings/jewellry eg rings etc, hair above collar and reasonable length and tidyness, "charcoal black" trousers, navy/black/grey socks, reasonable smart shoes ie no boots black trainers etc

blazer also has to be worn at all times, tho during the summer term u dont have to wear it, and the blazer has the school emblem on the pocket. if u do well in a sport u can get "colours" which is the maltese cross made from like this silvery wire thats been stiched in, and u get silver buttons and cufflinks, and the sport u play with the year underneath. if u do really well in sports u get honours, which is like colour except thers a smaller maltese cross, but its contained within this boundary thing, with a lion thing on top, and depending on the sport additional decoration, like oars for rowing, or hockey sticks for hockey.

they're really strict about uniform in our school. once all the teachers wer told 2 do a secret uniform check, except our maths teacher told us about it, and so we didn't get a detention, but then she told us that she had given out 8 friday detentions in her class!!!

sometimes, usually at the end of term etc, we have non-uniform days 2 raise money 4 charity

I hate my school uniform. It consists of: Navy Blue sweaters or vests (which ever you feel like wearing) w/ our school name on it, Long sleeve and short sleeve white golf shirts, and grey pants. They kicked out the kilts because girls were pulling them really high and cutting the shorts out that were stitched on the inside. That was before I entered High School. So, the year I got in (2007 September) was the 1st year without kilts.

~You get into trouble if: you're wearing a head band that isn't black, socks that aren't white, shoes that aren't fully black or black at all (The bottom of your shoes aren't even allowed to be red or white, even if the top of your shoes are all black)). There's this one teacher who will send you to the office if you don't have a RED pen for underlining and she also checks your socks O_O.. no one else does that ...
