I shelled out for the FMAB box set from funimation. I think that was about 80$. I could be off though.

I usually buy anime for few reasons:

- If i enjoy it and there's DVD or such, i'll most likely buy it. Sure it may be waste of money and space but again, that's how i'm like as otaku.

- If i haven't seen something but there are good review about it, i'll probably buy it someday. That is as long as it has a DVD version, that is.

- And finally, it's better to buy something you like before it can't be found anywhere on the internet. But then again, not all anime gets licensed because... reasons.

Simple as that.

For me the most expensive anime I bought are from Aniplex Gurren Lagann blu rays for $250 sets 1-5 so $50 each, Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works blu ray box sets 1-2 for $364 and tomorrow I should get my reprints of Fate/Zero blu ray boxsets 1-2 for $310

$100 for the Robotech DVD box set, all three series plus Robotech 2: The Sentinels and loads of extras. Though in hindsight, $20+ for less than 90 minutes of anime on VHS seems like a ripoff

I think the most amount of money I have spent on was the remastered Dragon Ball dvd sets but I got them over time Starting in 2012 and finishing in 2014 with the mix of US and UK dvd sets . Average per season was about £15-£16.So about £76ish but it was worth it. After that it would be last year in buying the Monster Farm(subbed) set for around £50 simply because I always wanted to watch it still gotta get around to completing it.

I think the most I've ever spent on anime is about $70 on the complete Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex series.
