Episode 3

So Mitsuya still works with Masashi but now there's this woman named Kaguya that enters his life. Kinda interesting to see the narrative of how it affects his lifestyle. Kinda obvious that Mistuya has a thing for Kaguya. I'm not sure if he's prepared for a relationship yet though or maybe he just has a hard time being himself in front of her.

The realism of the show remain fluid. The road to building dictionaries isn't easy.

Regarding Kaguya, I kinda like her. She's mature and follows her dreams.

I wonder if the dictionary really is going to get cancelled?

Episode 4

Another good episode.

Finally, about time Mitsuya decided to finally talk to Kaguya normally. Hell, even the granny supports their relationship. It's a slow start but I think they have some decent chemistry especially on that ferris wheel. In the meantime, I'm glad Mitsuya reaffirms his goal to make dictionaries.

Publicizing dictionaries is also a good idea to keep it from being cancelled.

Is it just the problems with legal availability that are the reason for the apparent lack of interest in this show? Because I am really enjoying it so far, & it deserves a good following so I'm very surprised to find even this forum so sparsely attended (?). Why tf does Amazon do shitty things like that?!! Anyhow, I will be continuing to watch regardless, considering this seems to be one of the gems of the season - it's in the top 2 or 3 of my list & I will be recommending it to anyone who will listen!

Well I liked the focus on Nishioka this week. A decent change of pacing there but in the meantime, I'm also rooting for Majime.

He actually found the courage to deliver that love letter to Kaguya! I'm pretty curious to see how she will respond next time.

God, I almost cried after Kaguya's initial response; its so hard to watch someone so awkward stumbling through the whole love & relationship thing. Fortunately for Micchan, Kaguya has enough maturity & sensitivity to overlook his shortcomings. And it all finished with a gentle, promising mood - love this show!!

Ah! I thought there was a familiar feeling to the characters on this show. The character design is by Kumota Haruko, one of my fave BL mangaka & creator of 'Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu'!! (I should have looked it up months ago!)

The only reason I am not watching this is the legal availability thing. I have an Amazon Prime membership and was looking forward to watching this, as I have the last two shows they did simulcast in the US. I guess maybe that didn't work out so well for them and they've got business reasons for not doing the same with this show, but I'm pretty disappointed about it. I just hope it does show up at some point in a way that I actually get news that it's available.

Episode 8

So we got a time skip (I think it's 13 years?) and apparently, Majime and Kaguya are married now. Honestly, Majime looks pretty much the same to me while Kaguya does show a bit of her age. I'd like to see the anime show a glimpse at what happened during those 13 years together though. I wonder where the grandma is now? Maybe she passed away?

The new woman that showed up at the workplace seems like a friendly person although she seems to lack some confidence.

Episode 8. 13 years later, & Majime is now the slightly less awkward chief of the Dictionary department, with his very own harem of 2 !! I really enjoyed the easiness between Majime & Kaguya after 13 years of marriage, compared to the painfully stunted start to their relationship just a couple of episodes ago! They are now very comfortable as a couple.
It looks like The Great Passage, now on its 3rd proofreading, is nearing completion; but with a flag raised over Matsumoto-sensei's health, will he live to see his lifes work come to fruition?
We also met Kishibe, the newest employee, who seems to have suffered a serious blow to her self-confidence over her transfer to the Dictionary department. After an initial crisis & feeling of 'out-of-placeness' in her new job, Nishioka works his usual magic, saying just what is needed to put her back on her path with new purpose & enthusiasm.
Another great show, although it would have been fun to watch the relationship between Majime & Kaguya develop - as well as all the other little ups & downs in the 13 year interim! Looking forward to next week!!

Is there any new news about this series and Amazon US availability? I'm really curious since Haruko Kumota (Rakugo) is working on this and am a bit bummed that it still isn't legally available here. I guess I have some idea now of how (most) other countries feel when they don't get a series licensed.
