when you go to store for shopping and your not dress well, how the people (worker) at the store look at you? do they welcome you well or do they not care about you when your not dress well?

i went to Royce today with my cousin, i was wearing sandal with jacket on, my cousin was dress well, bought some chocolate. the employ there was nice to my cousin. he looking at me like i'm not there to buy anything. i was so nervous at that time. i just buy and left.

did this happen to you?

Cant say i really go out of my way to dress overly well when i go shopping. I mean i did when i was younger and was going to a mall or plaza or the city or something but when iam just going for groceries or what not i often go in my work clothes(straight after work). I wear a work uniform and steel cap work boots but the uniform looks like casual wear pretty much.
Come to think of it, i often do go to the shops in what i wear all the time anyways. Iam not really a dressy person. I dress pretty casual but i guess i try to look neat and presentable as far as not wearing really old or daggy clothes like faded or with holes or not clean or anything.
So i supposed sometimes i go shopping a tad over dressed but admittedly i do often go very unshaven and sometimes with messy hair and i guess i do wear some clothes that are far from dressy. But i dont wear tank tops or thongs(not the same as the American version of the thong LOL more like sandals i guess), i dont wear tracksuit pants and that.

I dont pay too much attention to the staff or other shoppers reaction but there are times where i do feel like a bit of a scruba lol especially when half asleep or hung over or something.

I actually find the staff's reaction towards me really varies. Like sometimes the girls seem extra friendly and chatty/talkative and seem genuinely interested in conversing with me. Other times not so much or not at all. It's rare for them to be rude or seem judgemntal though.
But sometimes i think it depends on their mood or my mood like sometimes iam chatty sometimes i really really am not.
Not sure if it has ever had anything to do with how i was dressed or not?
Plus they can be hard to read because sometimes girls behind the counter actually seem interested in you but it's just their job to be friendly and ploite to the customer.
My 15 cents

They never seem to give a damn, to me. Then again, I'm not in the habit of paying attention to whether or not they care.

I have 2 styles i tend to go with house slacks or the lazy touch this is stuff like jogger bottoms average looking tops and hoodies and jumpers clothes I'd never leave the house in then there is the other style which is presentable such as smart clean looking jeans trendy tops and jackets i don't stand out i blend in like another nobody the way i sort of like it the only exception to my rule was the time i wore a My Little Pony top to a comic con event i haven't worn that top outside the house since that one and only time thus far.

People generally seem nervous around me regardless of how well I may be dressed. So I guess in the spirit of the original question no it does not happen to me.

While I dress very nice, I'm not much of a trend follower . In the past I've noticed I was followed around a little more by floor walkers in the higher class department store, not as if they wanted to help me find something, but more like they seemed to think I was up to no good. I could afford it, but the general attitude made me want to buy somewhere where someone actually did want to help.

Some places it never matters how you dress their service sucks regardless.

If I dress nice I get better service . . . been seeing that all my life.

If you are thin and attractive you get better service . . . been putting up with that all my life.

People definitely judge me based on my race. I noticed a lot of workers at department stores think I can't afford items from the stores... They always say, "It's $50, you sure you want to buy?". Like bitch, I saw the price tag, if I didn't want to buy it I wouldn't check out with you.

Or they follow me around the store.

Similar to that bitch in that Pretty Woman scene.

The sales people won't be so snooty in 10 years when everything is bought online in VR malls. You will be able to shop naked then if you want.
