So the premium membership is still not working and this is really starting to get frustrating. I did the 7 day free trial just to see if that would help and that went through but it only went through with iTunes but the card I have on my iTunes is the same card I'm trying to use to pay for the premium membership. So how does that work for the iTunes payment but it doesn't work when I want it to pay with just the card?

Edit: I just called my bank and they said they saw that you guys denied my transaction because you guys still have my old expiration date number and old cv number and even though I took off my cards saved on file since it's the same account but a new updated card it's conflicting with that. So I'm guessing this is on crunchyrolls end right now. I don't know how I would fix that

Edit 2: it's sad that one of the answers that I keep on getting from people is to make a whole new account. I shouldn't have to make a whole new account to pay for something.

I know right I have the same problem and it's really frustrating. tell me if there's any solution.

I never really got it fixed but I have just been doing it through iTunes

I've had the same problem using a credit card I've used for years to renew my Premium membership not being accepted. Nor did another card I tried.

It was finally resolved yesterday by having CR customer service delete my account and my reregistering as a new account. I was able to use the same user name and password, but all my CR points and such were lost. However, I didn't think that was much of an issue as long as the problem was resolved. Right now I'm on the two week free trial for Premium. Later I'll pay for the year subscription.

So it wouldn't let me pay by credit card. I kept getting an error. I found deleting all payment options from my account and charging through Paypal worked like a charm instantly. I recommend other people try this!

I tried signing up using paypal for the free trial membership. It said there was a problem with my payment method that it was taking longer than usual and now it says that I have a checkout pending. I use my paypal for many things and never have this problem. Not a very good first impression.

I tried removing my paypal but it says "This payment method cannot be removed because it is currently being used to pay for a pending membership."

This is part of CR's efforts to mitigate the recent series of DDoS attacks launched against their services.

If you have a billing issue, you should /contact customer support directly. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I believe it can sometimes take up to 2 weeks for a pending payment to finally be cleared automatically, as they try to charge your payment method on file several times over that period.

Everything is in order now. Apparently is just takes some time for the setup to go through. I wonder what motivation people have for the DDoS attacks. I know plenty of people out there just like to exploit vulnerabilities but I hear that crunchyroll gets attacked a lot. Is it just a bunch of skiddies trying to make a name for themselves or did crunchyroll do something that in their mind warrants the attacks? Either way that is upsetting. This is a very good service and plan on remaining a member even after the free trial ends. The fact that people want to mess it up for the rest of us hurts what little faith in humanity that I have retained throughout my life.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any announcements from groups claiming responsibility (and they often misrepresent their true motivations anyway), but as they say, "Some men just want to watch the world burn." It's also possible it's an attempt to extort money out of CR. Though now that I think about it, there were a number of engineers that were recently let go from CR, but I haven't seen anything to justify a connection between the two events.

Want to sign up, it won't let me. Because I used my 14 day free trial. Funny how I used my 14 day free trial when I've never before given you my credit card before. Just because I set up a free account doesn't mean I got the 14 day free trial, since a credit card is required and I didn't feel like it at the time. How about you guys figure out how this works or maybe you just don't want my money?

I'm was given the same exact answer (to make a new account) when I emailed Crunchyroll about this issue. Like, I've been a premium member since 2012, and have been watching anime on here for even longer. I was also told to try using paypal, but i don't even see a paypal option in my payment settings. This is the type of issue that could force me to go elsewhere to watch something I love. I love the site as a whole and don't want to leave, but this is really beginning to irritate me

You'd need to let your account expire before you could switch payment method types, like changing from CC to PP.
