Taft was a good president i think. I feel kinda sorry for him that he was sorta bullied for his weight though.

yeah I agree both parties will be destroyed. These last few wikileaks show wide spread corruption in both parties. People will get fed up no matter who ever wins.

What are you talking about? If Donald wins the Republican Party will vanish.
Posted 10/14/16
the neocons took over the Rs just as the progressives took over the Ds. and neocons & progressives arent that far apart in reality, which is why we wind up with the same crap no matter which way it goes. people like Ron Paul who talk too much sense wind up getting shunned because there's a lot of takehome to be banked as a congressman.

both need to go and we need a massive restructuring of the political landscape and eliminate all the rules that keep only those 2 parties in play.

The republicans are done. They have shown that they would rather back big business and cheap foreign labor rather than the candidate nominated by the voters. Look for a massive overhaul of the GOP or the start of a third party regardless of who wins. Democrats are too stupid to see that Sanders was destroyed by the DNC, even though it was spelled out for all to see in the recent WikiLeaks email dumps.

The Republicans are NOW--eight years after Sarah Palin and twenty-four years after GHW Bush vs. Dukakis--coming to grips that their party spent the last two decades-plus running in place pursuing no other agenda besides punishing every Democratic president for Bill Clinton "taking away" the Reagan era, instead of blaming GHW for making a whiny hyperdefensive incompetent mess of it in the first place.

Now they've had a candidate with no sane platform whatsoever, and no comparatively sane candidate who DID have a platform.
Used to be, even a paranoid creep like Nixon could sweep in '68 and '72 by playing up conservative values and a stronger sense of defense and crime to the "Silent Majority" when headlines were too confusing--But knowing how to do that comes from actual experience in a two-party Senate or VP slot.
During the Carter-era confusion, Reagan was the only candidate old enough to know how to do that, and that's why the Republicans still cry for him and light a candle in the window hoping he'll come back.

The Republicans wanted "sandbox politics", and then got disappointed when all the other kids left or went home.

Frankly, the GOP deserves Donald J Trump.

The GOP has engaged in obstruction and obfuscation for decades, and both parties have been excessively polarized by their fringe elements.

It's entertaining in the extreme to hear Newt Gingrich complain about Trump - after all, the Newt has no room to talk.

When the moderate elements are referred to as 'RINOs and DINOs', and each candidate shifts further toward the ends of the political spectrum, you aren't going to get decent choices, or intelligent policy statements.
