For me...

Taboo Tattoo had good fights and characters and in the second half they just ruin everything.

Chaos;Head went from an interesting murder mystery to a stupid sci-fi as soon as they introduced Sena or whatever the black haired-girl's name was.

Mob Psycho 100 was interesting and funny and became...less interesting and less funny in the second half.

C3 got worse by episode 4 so it barely counts.

One Punch Man, same as Mob Psycho.

Re:Zero's second half just wasn't as enthralling as the first half, yet it was still great.

Rewrite's second half was just boring and came out of nowhere.

Sword Art Online, goes without saying.

Haikyuu's second season is just a personal peeve of mine, the pacing was much slower in the second season than the first, but I did like this season more so eh whatever.

Yeah, that's about it.

Chaos;Head was always a sci-fi its part of a sci-fi series xD

Well yeah I realize that, but I went into it thinking it was a murder mystery with some sci-fi elements. I was thoroughly disappointed when it dropped the whole mystery part and suddenly became an action sci-fi with weird concepts that made little sense. Hell they never even answered the mystery of the new gen murders. I hope Chaos;Child answers the murders and doesn't become as boring as Chaos;Head.

don't quote me on this but im pretty sure in the VN everything is explained even how the new gen murders happened

REALBOOTING as they call it.

I heard the anime adaption was shit so its possible they didn't put it in :/

For the record, almost all Anime series first season>others. There are the rare exceptions of course, but yet it is so. Usually extra seasons are done for ¥¥¥ reasons, and lose sight of the objective (why they exist in first place). The best shows are generally 12/13 episodes long.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The first season was great and a lot of fun, but the second season destroyed absolutely everything I liked about the show with the famous Endless Summer arc. Thankfully the movie was a lot better. But even with all of that Haruhi is still the only KyoAni show that I've actually enjoyed.

After watching 4-5 episodes of endless eight I haven't wanted to finish off the series, that was pure torture

Hmm, SAO definitely, Death Note too.

I'm gonna go with Code Geass. Though the first season ends on that cliffhanger, the second season devolves into an excuse to sell more toys. Highly disappointing

Personally, I would like to see the second series that was originally planned.

I recall reading back at the time it aired that the second half that aired wasn't what was originally planned, so I went looking for something that at least touched on that:
http://code-geass.livejournal.com/887826.html

Given that it is a short article, even this was missing details. I recall it was supposed to also delve more into a relationship between Lelouch and Milly (the club president, and a daughter of the family supporting Lelouch and Nunally).

Here was one of the discussions here on CR about it:

Most anime series every season tbh. It's very rare for me to be excited about the second half of an anime the same way I was (if I even was) for the first half.
This season will probably be different from any previous seasons, since there are SO many shows I look forward to every week.

So, what anime did you really like at first but then it kind of just got ok or bad as it went along?

Sister New Devil, most recently.

The thing for me is usually that the first season is full of "wow, I did not see that coming" and the second is a bunch of "sigh, this shit again."

Oh, okay, it's time for the guy to go finger his magical slave girls while the loli watches and makes lewd comments. Again.

During the first season, this was shocking and surprising and a little disturbing. Now it's BORING. I don't care anymore.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, for me. Loved the first half. The main guy ruined the second half with his assholery, iirc.

Im going to be a wild card here:

Star Ocean I had to drag myself through during the second half of the series. It started off as an interesting fantasy/sci-fi but once they got to the second continent it turned out to be a drag.

Death Note because once L died it just become "Youre the bad guy and we will do everything to blame you"

Golden Time but I heard the ending wasnt as I expected so I might pick it back up. It just seems too much like he is going to break up with the girl he was with since episode 2 which nearly all anime have happen.
