So beautiful (music, art and animation) and a bit depressing as well. Didn't expect to feel for a character that I knew for less than a six minutes. The final straw was when she saw their farewell as a kid.

This is a joke, ridiculously laughable. Another reason why Reddit sucks nowadays, it's infested and compromised by these all of these mods....

Some character designs for the OP if you want to include it:

Haha that's how I felt when I read it too!

Shelter is trending on Facebook:

Apparently if you want anime to hit the mainstream, this is the way to do it. I'd love for more collaborations like this.

Guess I didn't pay close enough attention to what was going on in the background of the video between 4:20-4:42.

I'm content with this. Even all my buddies who don't watch anime are hitting me up about this and saying it's amazing. This is the PROPER exposure that anime deserves. I wager this will bring some more traffic to CR since they're involved in this project.

That was really beautiful. The music is great, while the imagery to go along with the song is simply moving. There could be a film about this somewhere down the line, but nevertheless it's great to listen to.

So...um...that was, freaking amazing.

6 minutes, that's all that was needed to tell a story. A very short story. But it wasn't the story itself. It was the execution. The animation mixing with the beautiful track provided a medium in which they could execute the story. The music changed moods from up beat into a sort of chill type of feel, but mixed with what was going on on screen, it actually made the situation that much more effective in a way that I cannot explain.

This is just too beautiful for words like I am in awe. This is perfect as is, I do not need an after story, I do not need a explicitly detailed backstory, Shelter did what it needed to do and left me completely satisfied.

On a side note I think I know where all the good A-1 animators went.

Like all good storytelling it left me wanting more.

A wonderful story that goes perfectly with the music. I couldn't decide at the end if I should be happy she was still alive or sad she would be alone for the rest of her life. Perhaps both.

Ya I agree, I'm not sure I'd want a continuation, it's awesome just the way it is. I mean, I wouldn't be completely opposed to it, but I think this is great how it is. I'd rather Porter just do something original again if he decides to do another.

If we ever get more Shelter, I'd like it to be in the form of a short movie length (maybe an hour or so) video. But, I'd like it to stick largely to what we've already seen. Make it in essence a (very) long form music video with one continuous song. Very little dialogue. Many things still not really explained and much left to the imagination. Just give us a little more detail and let us live in some of the dreamscapes a little longer.

Thought it was alright overall, neat music and artwork looked good. However, I'm not a big fan of music videos related to anime but I will give Porter the impression that he did well for this work.
