A persocom from Chobits.

The single biggest problem with working on my computer is that I can't "bounce" ideas off it. I can't just free associate while it connects dots and asks questions. Normally, I need another human being to do that. But with a persocom... I could say "hey wouldn't this be cool" and the persocom could add further input as necessary and look shit up automatically.

Usually, when I need to look something up I go hit Bing which generally leads me to Wikipedia and then twenty minutes later I'm reading about British naval history and can't remember what I was trying to look up or why. I need a filter to keep the irrelevant shit out of my eyeline.

meanwhile, in real-life Japan, people work extra time for several additional hours a week (for a total of 100+ hours per week) because it's the norm...

Holy shit, that's like 15 hour days for seven days a week. I seriously doubt that. I work 80+ hours a week and I barely do anything but work.

EDIT: Also, why do people want the Nerve Gear to be real? It was literally designed to microwave brains!

the pressure to do overtime is too great. the pressure is so much, some people actually commit suicide. no joke.

For a period of eight months, Fujita, whose name has been changed to protect her anonymity, averaged 18 to 20 hours of work per day.
...
Overtime has become a problem of such severity that it is now associated with a host of physical and mental illnesses. In Japan, death by over work, or karoshi, is a legally recognized cause of death. According to Japan's Health Ministry, over 100 workers died from work-related causes including strokes, heart attacks and suicide in 2013, sparking lawsuits and calls for limits on amounts of overtime work.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/working-towards-death-in-japan-140758364.html

In spending 14 hours a day at work and giving up many of her paid holidays, Erika Sekiguchi is not even an extreme example.
...
Court documents show the man had worked almost 200 hours of overtime a month in the seven months before his death, a form of “power harassment” that the judge blamed for leaving the victim mentally ill.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/22/japan-long-hours-work-culture-overwork-paid-holiday-law

it's a serious problem in Japan. and of course, employees can't exactly question their bosses if they are asked to do overtime.

It went from anime technologies to talking about Japan's aging workforce.
Yet no one wanted the medical bed from Roujin Z, whatever technology they have that makes women's clothes invulnerable to all damage short of direct sexual assault, or supports the massive mammary missiles of motherhood many maidens manage.
