I would really like a Giftia from Plastic Memories.. But I also don't want one I am kinda conflicted.

Or I would like Senketsu and the scissor blade from Kill la Kill.

I want a game that's like SAO (Trash anime cool concept). (Sure, lock me in the game for 2 years as well, fuck working.) But it can't be fundamentally broken in many ways like SAO is lol. I've always wanted a VR game that you're completely immersed in whilst sleeping.

I want society to go back to flip phones and be able to put charms on them again. I'm sick of people being on their smartphones all the time, and I think humanity would be better if we all went old-school.

I want a Gundam! basically any Gundam would do, but it has to be working I don't want a broken one. I suppose Gundam Unicorn would be a good start, the name alone... but I won't be too picky, a working Gundam is good enough for me.

oh and I wouldn't be greedy I'd accept a Uchikoma as well, I can then paint it any color of choice it won't care. don't care for the green color, but it sure does great for a one person tank.

Speaking from my experience as an engineering study and general knowledge of the current state of tech

If we put the right people and resources, with significant funding into it, I think we could reach Code Geass level Mechs within the next 5 to 10 years. Note that I'm talking 1-3rd Gen; the ones in the series are 7th, 8th Gen.

Even so, that's pretty impressive

Something like the App from Eden of the East would be pretty cool and not that far off, if a company ever tried to make it and make it really good. Augmented Reality in general is a technology I really look forward to seeing realized.

we currently already have a very heavy one person tank that rolls, it doesn't go very far, it weighs a lot thus it eats fuel but it still exists so we're closer than once thought, with all this tech, people would rather have a sex doll, oh hum

there was the Gundam replica in Japan harbor, with working lights and fog, so, if we can create a replica, then it can't be that much harder to add the "guts" once we figure that out. so, it'd be awesome to have this sort of power in my life time, to see a mech and watch it pretty much destroy a whole city due to it's size and power (with great power comes great responsibility), but quite a powerful ally in space against space junk asteroids, etc.

The ReLife project sounds promising.

Drugging disadvantaged adults so they can revert back to their younger selves and redo crucial life decisions.

I'm sure a lot of us are thinking, "If I knew what I know now, high school would've been different."

Living organic ships that are self aware. I'm pretty sure anime came up with that.

I thought about it, and truth be told, I probably would make even worst decisions, especially regarding loose sexual relations.

....I cannot be trust.

Hate to burst your bubble, really do, because I kind of want them too.

But I am in a semi decent position to judge the viability of this.

First, does it still need to be humanoid? If not, the range of possibilities is immense. A massive, hulking, city destroying fortress is a possibility.

If we're staying humanoid, let's consider.

Adding the "guts' would be immensely difficult, just because of the amount of stuff we would have to add. Making it mobile would require a large array of systems to begin with. Add the weight of the power source, weapons, and whatever ammunition it uses and you're looking at just too much weight given current power sources (barring us figuring out fission or having a continual and contained nuclear explosion as the power source).

Another issues is structural integrity. Go look up the cubed-square law. It's basically why "Attack of the fifty foot women" is impossible. Extrapolating to gundam, we have material stronger than bone, yes. But it's still an issue if you're looking to go really big.

Another issue is viability and survivability. Basically, given current materials and size constraints from before, a good rockets or even a few well placed bazooka/RPG shots (ok not RPG, but hand held rocket, you get the idea) and it's either destroyed or made ineffective

Sorry, but the materials just aren't really there. Graphene is probably the next super material and maybe, but that's a long way off of actually being used in anything. And even that may not be enough.

And then's there's space and flight in general.
Flying in space would actually be a lot easier, if difficult to map due to reference frames. Getting them in space, not so much, especially if they're meant to get there under their own power. You think they have problems moving on the ground? Try adding enough thrust to get it to space.

And don't even get me started and the energy and advances in technology needed for unaided flight (and hovering, which is surprisingly difficult).

Too many abuse cases, methinks. Too many rich people using it to achieve quasi immortality.
Plus it's still no guarantee they'd make better choices? What about those people?
And that would just overload the school system more than it already is. Though, having a bunch of people who want to do well maybe also be a boon.

I would just skip external technology and upgrade the technology of my body by raising it's frequency.
