In yet another turn in this wild ride the guy who is leaking damaging emails from the democratic party gets his internet cut. How does that even happen in a embassy?

Its a little more than that....we have...

-John Podesta tweeting that Assange should be worried about the food there at the embassy
-John Kerry threatening Ecuador with grave consequences if they dont stop Assange
-Pamela Anderson bringing him lunch
-Reports of english storming embassy
-Assange goes dark and nobody's heard from him
-Deadman protocol enacted

Apparently they really dont want the videos of Bill Clinton raping a 13 year old to come out

I remember when my internet got cut by a party. Not a political party, mind you, my neighbours were celebrating the beginning of summer and the ensuing events caused everyone else on the block to lose power. With my router down I was forced to use data even though I was at home. It was awful.

So RT had their NatWest bank accounts closed and Ecuador admitted to cutting Assange's internet connection because his leaks could effect the US presidential election. Feels like there is some high level scumbagery going on... Your imagination can go wild but sadly the leaks and what happened to Bernie don't make it that much of a stretch.

Almost certainly diplomatic wrangling behind those actions. I wonder if that's the Obama administration response to the Russian hacks.

At this point, Wikileaks was white noise in the election. Shutting Assange down just ups his profile. On the otherhand, I do see the point in shutting down non-US actors trying to influence the election. If someone's going to do scummy plumbing of political opponents, leave it between Americans.

when those politicians are responsible for waging war all over the planet, 50+ nations over the last 70 years...I dont blame other folks for wanting to see the corruption and fraud and warmaking end.

RIP Assange, his last tweet had a 3 year old pic of him - the swiss artists that sent him a package with a camera in it broadcasting a 3g signal proves that signal could get in the building, and what of the window....

maybe pamela anderson's lunch was hooked up something SPEciaL

until someone actually sees Assange then we kinda have to assume the deadman switch was flipped for a reason.

Well at this point it's obvious there was a flow chart for Hillary from the moment she lost to Obama. Culminating in Obama endorsing Hillary before the end of the primaries. Being cozy with your former boss isn't unheard of, but at what expense? Being chummy with major players in the media and financial industries make it feel like they are the fourth and fifth branches of government.

A Democrat endorsing a Democrat isn't exactly unheard of, and acting on the findings from the FBI on foreign actors isn't exactly strange either. What does any of that have to do with media outlets or the financial industry?

aside from the fact that Obama got his list of admin staff nearly verbatim from a former citibank executive?

The emails contain the paid speech transcripts and conversations between campaign officials and members of the media. It lends itself the the narrative that news organizations and Wall Street are all in for Hillary, outside of the typical campaign contributions and editorial endorsements. As if they are businesses ran and made of people who get their cues from Washington when it should be the other way around.

Pretty much. He's dependent on Ecuador for asylum and Ecuador doesn't want to be seen as trying to interfere with another country's election process nor damage its US diplomatic relations. Ecuador is on thin ice with the US as is. He's been holed up there for 4 years and according to, ironically enough, leaked documents from the embassy he's an asshole ( even getting into physical fights with security ) and has long since worn out his welcome.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you, etc.

So it was the Ecuadorian government. That was one of my guesses, so it looks like I guessed right.

The thing about the e-mails and speeches isn't really as much that the information is groundbreaking, but rather that they confirm everything people already assumed about Clinton and the DNC. That may well be part of why the leaks aren't making as big a splash as it was assumed they would. It's not that the Clinton team, media figures and outlets, and the DNC haven't done and said things they should be held accountable for (and they absolutely must be after the election), it's that the "October Surprise" isn't that bloody surprising.

Yeah, Clinton's a liar when she says she wants to hold Wall Street accountable for pretty much anything, and in fact she's even in bed with them. That's terrible, but we knew that already. Sure, the DNC has been shaping the narrative at certain media outlets and those outlets have been allowing themselves to be so shaped, but we knew that already. Sure, people at the aforementioned media outlets have been giving heads ups to the Clinton team that they shouldn't be about event questions and Clinton's been planting people in crowds to ask questions she wanted asked, but we knew that already. Sure, Clinton's admitted that her plans for Syria would entail a large amount of civilian deaths, but who expected they wouldn't or assumed she wasn't aware that they would? Sure, the elites within the Democratic Party look upon Sanders supporters as a "red army" full of "ignorant and naive" people led by an "extremist" (he's actually fairly vanilla by global standards), and sure, Clinton is confirmed to have thought as much herself, but that's what their supporters have been saying publicly about progressives all along. That is one of the main lines of attack that Correct the Record trolls were using, shouting Cawmoonizm!!!! at anyone to the left of them (which is, incidentally, pretty much everyone who can actually call themselves anywhere left of the political centre-right).

These are all great points on which to make and evidence to support the argument that a progressive revolution needs to happen in the party, and frankly that's exactly what I think ought to be done with this information, but none of it is surprising.
