I kinda wish that additional characters would be released in groups (similar to how Street Fighter IV added fighters) instead of one per month.

When it's one per month we don't get to see whether the character is viable in tournament setting due to the proximity of the release to a major tournament. This makes the pros default to characters who are already battle tested, which is completely understandable. If characters are added in batches, then at least they are all present and they can all be explored before the really big tournaments like EVO.

I think a really great player can turn this to their advantage though. I mean a character has just come out, and you may be a quick learner who can already play as the character quite well. Come the tournaments, people won't properly be used to countering your character properly, so you can wreck the place.

So the CPT finals in December are going to be 2 / 3 until top 16.. honestly I feel that it should be 3 / 5 the whole way. It would be a shame for those who made it to the event only to lose in 8 rounds.

Although they should be able to adapt within 1 game (they are the cream of the crop, after all), this is the final stop of the tour so you would think that Capcom would want to have more matches

Infiltration, Tokido, and Justin Wong are out!

I didn't think Justin would make it far but I am surprised that he went 0-2 (and all the more for Infiltration and Tokido).

Ricki makes it through in Winners side! Still don't really like Chun but that was some great play and I wasn't expecting her to make it as far as she has.

Du also makes it through on Winners side! Du's been one of my favourite players of the last few years and it's awesome to see him making it so far. Really hope he goes all the way.

Du making it to Top 8 on Winner's side is no surprise to me. With how he's played in the latter half of the season I think he is the man to beat. That beat down he gave Xiao Hai (I'd say more mental than anything) was crazy. Xiao Hai is clearly still rattled from Canada Cup.

Ricki, on the other hand, is a surprise to me. She's always been an elite player, but she hasn't really made any waves this season.

Capcom bringing the hype!

Akuma Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH8c6eZ2ijE

Looks like he has his Misogi built into his Shoryuken when in V-Trigger. Also, he might have two Critical Arts? First one is reminiscent of one of his hidden Super Arts from Street Fighter III: Third Strike --- Kongo Kokuretsuzan --- and the second, of course, is Shun Goku Satsu.

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is real!

Du takes it all! He really came into form in the latter half of the tour and he was nigh untouchable in this year's finals.

I would have never imagined a USA vs USA finals but like Mike Ross said when he introduced Du in the grand finals of the event, the Americans are not free

Looking forward to Season 2. I really hope the characters released don't have such a big gap between them though because players who are invested in a particular character won't bother learning the ones released later due to the risks associated in tournament play.
