They could keep an online registry of who voted, but the moment it's online it's vulnerable to hacking.

I was looking for an article about rigged voting machines, specifically the Diebold voting machines that were hacked and compromised, and I found this:

http://www.mintpressnews.com/214505-2/214505/

Last Month, Hillary Clinton declared herself the winner of the Democratic Party in the much-anticipated Iowa caucuses. Immediately after the ‘victory,’ Clinton went on CNN to bask in her counterfeit fame.

“I am so thrilled,” Clinton told Wolf Blitzer in an interview Tuesday afternoon. “My luck was not that good last time around, and it was wonderful to win the caucus, to have that experience.”

However, fraud was so rampant that a C-SPAN video caught it. Clinton’s ‘victory’ would have nothing to do with ‘luck,’ and her premature declaration of the “razor thin” tie, was no mistake.

When campaign minions aren’t fudging the physical vote count, computers, tasked with tallying the vote, are susceptible to hacking.

So her campaign was suspected even then of stealing the primaries from Bernie Sanders....

But this article points to the Republicans for being just as crooked.

He is notable chiefly for making a series of whistleblower allegations about his former employer and about Republican Congressman Tom Feeney, including an allegation that in 2000, Feeney and Yang Enterprises requested Curtis’s assistance in a scheme to steal votes by inserting fraudulent code into touch screen voting systems.

True voter fraud is extremely rare, despite what alarmists would have you believe.

Invalid voter registration however does occur for several reasons:

Death of a family member. You're supposed to notify the county registrar when a voter is deceased so the information can be removed from the rolls. It's likely the families involved have other things on their mind, so the deceased's name stays on the rolls until it's finally pointed out that Mr. Smith is the oldest living voter at 160 years of age. (With apologies to Mr. Smith if he really is 160 years old.)

Movement from your district/county to another locale. Again, you're supposed to notify the registrar so the rolls can be updated.

Out of country deployment. You must notify the registrar so you can send in an absentee ballot.

Unfortunately, much of the process for maintaining the voter registration files is antiquated and not well maintained, and does vary from state to state.

The people howling about voter fraud seem to rarely mention this, though.

Should be fairly straightforward for election officials to check for that.

you might want to actually go watch the videos about hacking the voting machines, it doesnt help you out when you speak from a position of not even having seen the information you're attempting to discuss.

Or you could say something substantive as to how I'm incorrect.

If there's some mechanism to prevent officials from checking a voting machine for irregularities, what is it and where did you hear that information from? That's a pretty low bar to back up a claim.

and how are they to determine "voting irregularities" with respect to how the voting machines can be hacked? (sorry you have to go inform yourself before you can really answer that)

They use the machines and see if results are different from what they input. Your turn.

yeah, get back to me after you're informed, I cant even discuss this with you if you dont even know the ways in which they can be compromised

If you're going to appeal to knowledge, you might want to display a bit of that knowledge yourself.

No not really. I could personally set it so that it works perfectly normal till it hits a certain date then it "malfunctions" once and works normally the next 10 times then "malfunctions" again. I could make it super hard to detect and after the election it would work perfectly normal. Most people, and you from the sound of it, have no idea about programming so its easy to fool you people with little tricks.
