I was watching an anime just fine. Moving onto the next episode, the video decided to stop playing, 00:00/00:00
and my Avast goes crazing warning me there is a malware

saying
72.21.81.253/s/v/cranime/zpbsolitifym etcetc

Is there anyone else with this problem?

You should send an email to customer support. I think there is a link on the episode player somewhere, where you can report problems with the episode. Tell them about this problem. If someone's hacked into CR's servers and infected them, it needs to be found and neutralized by them.

I would certainly report it to Crunchyroll. I haven't had any problems on the site today, but the one and only video I watched on the site was way before this problem started for you guys and it played just fine. Adobe Flashplayer just updated, at least for me, so if you just updated it as well, there could be an issue with that.

I've moved this to the Site Support / Minor Questions forum.

Several people have reported this in the Android forum, with several people feeling that it's likely a false positive, but I've seen no definitive confirmation.

I'm surprised a lot of people are having the same problem.

I took the risk to disable Avast for a sec to load the anime, and it stopped giving me that notification when I watch other videos.

Maybe it was a fluke, who knows?
