Well, japan has one of the lowest rates of obesity, and are quite proud of it, borderline obsessed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGqFlV_8R-c

a youtube video from thoughty2 on japan's matabo law. for those who arn't interested in watching, few things to note.
japan's obesity rate is 3%. 3%! if I included me and all my friends, 3 would have a healthy bmi, 2 would be questionable. (they are 6 foot plus and naturally big) and the last 3 would easly be obese. Oddly enough, the first 5 of us are accually concerned about our weight, and the obese ones arn't. (don't tell my friends I called them fat 8I)
The United States, the country everyone makes fun of for being fat, is 35%. roll a D6, and if you land on a 1 or a 6, you basicly have the odds of being fat here in america. Scary enough, the likelyhood of getting cancer is around 40%.

Japan doesn't want us to have nice bodys. (not directly anyway), they just have nice bodies themselves and it is, and has been, reflected in their culture.

A healthy body will naturally be a sexy body. It would be (in a darwinism kind of way) a severe disadvantage to think unhealthy is suitable for a mate.

Sorry for nerding out like that. I want to become America's best nutritonist. If the numbers continue, I'll ether have no job (because obese people don't want help ;I) or I'll only get 2 hours of vaction time in 25 years of estimated work.

...Because people in other countries usually have much better public transportation and walk everywhere- It's that way in Japan, it's that way in Taiwan, it was that way when I was in Europe. I did one heck of a lot of walking when I was in Taiwan and Europe, I don't do ANY walking in the U.S. of A...

That, and people in this country ingest too much sugar- It's a food / sugar industry conspiracy. Blame all the fat on fat and turn all the attention away from sugar, the real culprit.

I keep forgetting about that. I'm normally well aware of the sugar situation, as my white chocolate white coffee eggnog mocha would suggest. (totally yummy:D), but the fitness situation I take all too much for granted, seeing as how my disability makes me unable to drive without being a danger. I walk or bus everywhere. Hell, sometimes I walk to places that I don't need to go, just because It will take me to places I don't normally see.

and for the numbers.

590 calories for a 2 hour walk to a grocery store 3 miles away.

eggnog latte, 460 calories.

in America, pretty much every food you find in the market (excluding things like fruits / vegetables / fresh meat) are filed with sugar.
orange juice is virtually a soda drink that looks healthy, cereals contains several spoons of sugar per serving, even ketchup
(1 table spoon = 4g of sugar. people easily have several times that amount when eating a burger).
a single cup of "healthy" organic milk contains about 12+ g of sugar.

it's recommended(1) that people eat no more than 25g (girls) or 37.5g (guys) of sugar, but because sugar is everywhere, it's really easy to go over that amount, even if you avoid eating sweets.

I don't care what Japan wants us to have; but what I want is more of their manga translated to English.

Looks like your disability has turned into an ability to stay fit lol.

..........I was going to recommend that eggnog latte to my wife until I saw that calorie comparison

No kidding! When I took my vacation there, I lost almost ten pounds over 21 days, and I ate like a pig.
