So you didn't read history books on tunics in medieval times then :). But either way its more famous for women now to wear than men, even though wearing tunics and tights was more a trend in middle ages.

Tunics, tights?! Bah! Those're for wimps, everyone knows a real man wears a kilt.

At any rate, my point was that how childish something seems can be fairly subjective.

There is nothing dark about a guy dressing up like BATMAN. Its a super hero for kids, just like Superman. Seriously only nerds and grown up adults with the mind of a child could turn something childish for adults.

Its literally adults with super powers. There is literally nothing adult friendly about it. Unless you add somewhat gore and cursing, suddently... Oh now its for adults. Yeah right

The only movie i had guilty pleasure of seeing was Batman Begins. ONE MOVIE. It was just because it had ninjas and that made it interesting watch. Other than that all Super hero movies in generally are terrible and should stay for kids more or less just like when i was a child it was on TV and a cartoon for kids. Spiderman just to mention some of them or Superman for other people or X-Men.

Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
― C.S. Lewis

Youth ends when egotism does; maturity begins when one lives for others.
― Hermann Hesse, Gertrude

Maturity is when your world opens up and you realize that you are not the center of it.
― M.J. Croan

A man is at his youngest when he thinks he is a man, not yet realizing that his actions must show it.
― Mary Renault, The King Must Die

Youth condemns; maturity condones. ―Amy Lowell

Age is relative. Experience is relative. And I think often intensity is confused with maturity. ―Laura Marling

The clash is born of the fact that the child within me sees with undiluted clarity what the adult within me is incessantly working to deny. And in these most vexing moments, to be the adult is to defer to the child.
― Craig D. Lounsbrough

So, I guess I'll close with one last quote:

You have attained maturity; display it for us, if you please. ― MaryJanice Davidson
