I don't have the body, funds, or basically anything to be able to cosplay.

Nope I don't cosplay, but it's cool to see all the effort some people put into their cosplay

Unfortunately, no. But it's always nice to see many kinds of cosplays. And it makes me want to do that someday. I just need some time to make those outfits.

Still, i'm getting sick and tired of seeing some who cosplay Luffy or Ash or such EVERY year. No offence but it's getting old. I suppose it's because to keep people remember that one show or such.

Nah. I don't actually like cosplay. It ruins the characters image to me. Not to mention I have a habit of liking female characters and as a male I currently wouldn't suit any of them.

Oh my God I totally wish I could cosplay but come on no one knows me but I know me I'm so f****** ugly I'm totally going to mess up the character. I am so jealous of those people that have friends that don't care what you do and will be right beside you whatever anything but I totally don't have that... so yeah those people that could cosplay and don't give a f***. What other think

That what's up and love you guys and have fun

Yup, I've got a couple of cosplays.
But I mostly take photos of cosplayers as I find that more fun then spending hours on a project only to wear it for maybe one day

You could recycle them. Some cosplays require regular everyday items so it's not that expensive. For this cosplay I did recently, I just needed to buy the glasses for $4, gloves for $5. I already own the tie, the shirt, and the leftover (sealed/new) red contacts from my last cosplay. The ID and lanyard were free items I got from buying the manga from specific stores in Japan.

Last year's cosplay. The most expensive part was coloring the hair lol. I had a white wig but I tried it a few times in the past and hated it. I'd rather put in the extra effort of getting my hair bleached and toned instead of wearing a wig for a day. The shirt was just a regular longsleeve that I slashed with a saw in several places, the shorts is made from old scrubs from work, the handcuffs are cheap toys you can buy off ebay. The mask only cost $12 and kinda crappy but doesn't matter since it's not on my face directly and just kinda hangs there.

No. I'm not really big on costumes, period. Chalk it up to laziness, if you will.

The great thing about cosplay culture is that no one will give a shit about that. Every person has some level of insecurity and cosplay events serve as a safe haven for a lot people who might otherwise even be unable to function in a very social and public setting. You don't have to have an expensive costume or one that would blow people away. You don't have to look 100% like the character you represent because that's all there is to it -- representation. Even a simple shirt, a wig, a headgear, a simple prop, whatever..will be enough to count. Hell, you can even come in dressed up in a kigirumi. Adding in the details and being creative is part of the fun and at the end of the day, we do it for ourselves, fellow fans, and for whatever it is you cosplay as. No one that matters will judge you for it and those who do will simply not matter. I even take NY public transportation to get to events in the city or Brooklyn while in cosplay. I get some stares, which never bothered me, but in most cases, no one cares.

As for friends. Those who will shun you for doing something you love rather than support you are simply not worth keeping. You might even meet better ones that would appreciate you for who you are once you start joining these events. If you really want to do it, just go for it man.
