Getting 500 errors when using the site. Had to retype entire posts, thanks to it getting lost. Wonder if that "internet of thing" attack yesterday is happening here now.

Or, it us just me..... Figures as much...

EDIT: This report originally took place/peaked around the 18:00 hour Pacific Time. For now, appears to have subsided.

I'm pretty sure it's not cause then whole site would down if that's the case.

However, I'm here because my Roku app is acting weird, so there may be something wrong somewhere.

Ahhhhh, so me not crazy then, that's good.

BTW, a DDOS may not shut the site down entirely; especially if CR tech is good. Furthermore if there is a larger attack Internet wide going on, the problem is at the Tier 1 Internet level (ISP, DNS; not CR).

In other words, it could be "the entire internet is slowing down", geographically at least. Back when I used to play on EU servers for WoW and the like, I remember times when EU Internet being slowed thanks to some hacker groups. Almost like a monthly occurrence at times...

I will admit, the timing is peculiar. However, hard to believe DBZ would Nerf the entire site like that.

Seems to have cleared up a bit, a least site navigation anyways...

Ahh, the Chicago Cubs just advanced to World Series.... The social media storm of that could have explained surge in Internet traffic. But hard to say....

What u should worry about is your own stuff. Although details are sketchy at best, one report indicated email phishing (u opening up email with hostlie img url) was the problem. That is, how they backdoor your network.

Bottom line is, always disable img/html code on your email service, and reenable for content "you trust". If you get weird emails, don't click. If you get email that looks real, but has wrong email address, also bad....

Long story otherwise. If you live on eastern usa, u should be worried as well because apparently lot of the hacked devices were concentrated there (to shut down media in NYC, for instance). How u know u hacked? Have to be able to moniter outgoing traffic on ur router, which is a technical thing hard to explain/do for 95%+ of population.

When in doubt, turn off power/unplug your stuff. Set devices to not always be online, if possible. You don't need your BluRay player connected all the time, for example.

And you probably should reset router passwords, although depending on lvl of breach, may not matter. For now, just pay attention to news in the topic; remain defensive.
