So after years of dismissing it and finally having friends coerce me gradually into watching it in its entirety (including Rebellion) I hate myself for not watching this wonderful series earlier!! It really tugged on my heart strings to the point that I simply binged the whole thing within 2 days. I'm an addict now, but that's not what this is about. I know there have probably been a hundred other posts about the possibility of an upcoming sequel but as of now I have yet to find any particularly recent mentionings of an official sequel. Other threads I've seen are either at least a year old or not officially sourced. SO I ASK ALL OF YOU, has there been any word of another installment to wrap up this beloved series?

[Spoilers ahead]

I know I've kinda rambled a bit,as I've just finished this series that I'm already in love with but I'd love your thoughts on my conclusions. As well my main focus is still whether or not the idea of a sequel has been prodded at recently? Has any official sign come up to give way for an additional movie to wrap things up or perhaps a next season; even an OVA? Whatever medium it comes in I'd welcome in, though I am more curious whether it is intended to debut at some point or if this is where it ends. If this is it I am content basing the resolution on my personal take of the series as a whole. As I've just explained to you all from what I've seen thus-far I can draw a conclusion that brings closure even if its not meant to be a perfectly "happy" ending. However, if there is an additional installment looming on the horizion to reveal a more canonical source of closure I am on-board 100%. Even if it breaks my heart and the universe is left even more ambiguous or uncertain than now , in the words of Spongebob Squarepants, I NEEEEED IIIIT!! So for the love of god help me ease the suffering of this limbo uncertainty, I gotta know whether the creators have anything up their sleeve as of now or if I can try to rest with what I've gathered on a personal level.

There is a concept trailer floating about from the Madogatari Exhibition that was in Japan that teases a continuation of Rebellion with some pretty awesome stuff and plenty of theory fodder. However, for now at least, as I understand it, it's just that. A concept. no dates, whether it would be another movie or a new tv series, or if anything shown there will be in the finished project if it ever comes out (although given that's it's Madoka Magica it seems pretty likely that it eventually will). While the trailers themselves seem to keep getting taken off youtube I can give you this link to somebody's reaction to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgp2gjY-lxI I apologize that it's the best I could find

In short, while there's nothing concrete yet, I get the feeling that something is in the works so stay strong friend! As a fellow Madoka Magica fan I feel your pain.

There always the manga spinoffs to fill you need.

Also go watch Yuki Yuka is a hero for another good post-madoka magical girl show.

Glad you got time to watch it. And like cur0001 said above, Yuki Yuna is another good one to watch.

I'll take your recommendations for Yuki Yuna, it seems deceivingly light as well hehe. But what are these spin-off manga you mentioned? Do they add anything significant to the canon or offer interesting lore to fill in gaps? Lmk what I'm looking for because I'll probs read it anyway

And thank you Inazuma for your input! I had heard about the concept trailer but had no idea where the claims were coming from and if there was any weight to it BUT as a newly born fan I will remain insistent upon the idea that this is a sign of goodness for Madoka!! I know it may be a while before any true material bares its head but the official teaser is at least acknowledgement that the creators want to do more at some point. I would love for them to give me their true interpretation because I need so badly to know what happens to Madoka, Homura, and the rest >_<

Otherwise, what do you guys think of my interpretation within the spoiler in my initial post? Am I too hopeful for Madoka and Homura? I feel like it's possible, with as powerful as they both are now, there may not be a way for the two 'god-like' entities to coexist as different as they are. For how Madoka presents itself I think another outcome could involve the clash of God and Demon cancelling at least one of them out so the universe is able to balance. I'd LOVE for Homura to be sated and truly saved at the end if she can see the error in her methods but the series always seems to try to leave loose ends intentionally so that your heart will just explode :/ It's still all theory obviously but I would love to discuss more

my thoughts on your spoiler section:

As for the spin off manga I would suggest "Madoka Magica: the different story" (which shows one of the alternate timelines and develops the friendship Mami and Kyouko had before the main series) and "Homura's Revenge" (which has a sort of "what if" scenario of if Homura took Madoka back with her during one of her time leaps, but also Kyubey so now those 2 both have knowledge they didn't in the main series) both have some pretty good additions to the lore in my opinion.
