That certainly is great considering how specialized Crunchyroll is catering to a niche audience as far as American audiences go.

Honestly not surprised, anime is not as small of a niche as everyone pretends it is.

I figured Crunchyroll would be on that list considering how popular it is.

That's fucking awesome, good for them! They're up there with the heavy weights. CR has definitely been on the rise for a while, I'm glad they're getting bigger and bigger. Anime is getting more recognition these days and it's great.

That's pretty cool. Especially how this site started out in the beginning, and then became all legit and stuff.

Too bad they didn't link to the actual number of subscribers, it'd be interesting to know. I'm surprised so many people watch anime.

Just look at Crunchyroll, a subset of Ellation that provides nothing but East Asian media to a global audience—and has 750,000 paid subscribers for its trouble. More than 20 million registered users watch Japanese cartoons, like Naruto Shippuden and Attack on Titan , and Asian dramas, like Boys Over Flowers, in seven languages from English to Arabic. Together, those users watch 1.5 billion minutes of streaming video every month.

The last report was around 750,000 paid subscribers and over 20 million registered users, paid or otherwise. That was back in January of 2016. CR is projected to grow to over a million paid subscribers over the next year. To give some perspective, just five years ago CR had around 200,000 paid subscribers. Growth has been exponential in recent years. The only question is where it will peak at this point.
