So lately I've been pretty big into the whole "unassuming guy transported into a game/alternate world" kind of show. I don't know what it is about those, but they resonate with me. So far I've watched Sword Art Online, Log Horizon, No Game No Life, GATE and Re:ZERO. Are there any other good ones in the genre? It doesn't have to be exact, just generally alike. I really liked Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? as well, mostly for the video game elements.

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash doesn't play much with the real world transportation element (though it's clearly there) but it's an excellent show all around. Just be aware it's more character driven and not all hack and slash action scenes.

Gotta agree, I didn't get to finish it yet because where I was watching it before had issues but crunchyroll has it now and it fits the genre well.

Does going back to the past count ? since this series is also pretty good https://myanimelist.net/anime/31043/Boku_dake_ga_Inai_Machi

anyway.. i think these series will meet the requirement you stated

https://myanimelist.net/anime/30831/Kono_Subarashii_Sekai_ni_Shukufuku_wo
https://myanimelist.net/anime/31859/Hai_to_Gensou_no_Grimgar
https://myanimelist.net/anime/1681/Brave_Story
https://myanimelist.net/anime/1195/Zero_no_Tsukaima
https://myanimelist.net/anime/160/Ima_Soko_ni_Iru_Boku
https://myanimelist.net/anime/11933/Oda_Nobuna_no_Yabou

Look up if it was a light novel. If it was then you most likely have your plot. Their authors are the most unimaginative bunch of people. If you watched one you've watched them all...

-- Familiar of Zero (Note, 4 seasons total, only the last is on CR): Japanese boy sent to typical fantasy realm to be "familiar" of struggling witch.
-- The Ambition of Oda Nobuna: Japanese boy sent back to Japan's warring states period, except all the famous Japanese daimyo are girls.
--Outbreak Company: Hikimori is hired by Japanese government to be cultural ambassador to alternate reality.
-- Steins; Gate: Young scientist discovers he can manipulate the past to change the present.
-- Accel World: Pretty, popular girl drags overweight boy into an alternate reality game (same author as SAO; technically same basic universe, though set a generation or more later)
-- Btooom: FPS addict wakes up on an island, forced to play the game for real.
-- Gargantia of the Verderous Planet: Pilot involved in inter-galactic war gets stranded on flooded planet, forced to adapt to a new life.

All of those are good, and a couple (most notably, Steins; Gate) are awesome. Although f you get a little desperate for even more, try:
-- Rosario + Vampire: Human Boy gets accepted to a boarding school where everyone is a monster.
-- Sekerie: College ronin gets caught up in deadly, underground tournament where his partners (mostly girls) are forced to fight each other.
