No worries here. I was just wanting to make sure that it was clear that things didn't need to get too serious in this particular case about the term freedom of speech being used. xD

Can get really hard to tell what someone is intending when it is only text.

To clarify what I mean... Low self esteem might not be the right word for this I'm sorry it's sometimes hard to express myself since english is not my first language but what I mean is that people who have / have had problems with things like religion, different value systems etc. sometimes unfairly discriminate on discussions, theories and arguments that use symbols from those religions or whatever.

My personal opinion is that you can make "jokes" about anything if the people at your immediate surroundings are at least somewhat okay with it, of course internet is special case in this that you can't and should not try to beware of hurting other people with your possibly offensive comments etc. there is in my opinion also responsibility on the receiving end to not get offended so easily and treat some stuff on internet as harmless "shitposting".

For me the most ironic thing in this case is that those Pokemon are in fact direct references to certain biblical figures and/or concepts.

yea, that was kinda the whole point lol

the joke already existed and is made fun of all the time , all I did was clarify as to maybe why they are related lol

Yeah I understood that they were related and you were theorizing the possible connections but my point was that people were actually arguing against that no they are not related and that's just so funny. Some people just live in denial it doesn't matter if you are atheist or theist.. well I hope humankind will get smarter at some point or we are going to go extinct for sure.

It's so easy to justify removing/disciplining those who "trigger" other people and make boards more "safe" and "peaceful", but in the end as I said I think that people also have the responsibility to not get triggered and being able to see things in proper proportions a.k.a what is actually worth getting triggered by.

In my personal experience, some nonreligious people get easily annoyed about any mention of religion because it's not real to them and it makes them think of how they were lied to their entire life about the existence of a God.

As an Atheist, I sometimes get annoyed when someone talks about their faith in Jesus because in my mind it processes as Jesus isn't real and I should point that out and hopefully change their opinion.

Anyways I think it was deleted because one of the mods were one of these types of people who got triggered and didn't have any moral objections to deleting someone's thread just because it offends them and not because of the rules.

to me freedom of speech is exactly that
being able to say what you want, you have the freedom, to speech, without being censored

are there jokes in bad taste? have been since the dawn of time, people deal with it, boo fucking hoo, but don't make me not be allowed to talk because someone is "offended"

and even more so if its simply not funny, that is "opinion"

and if a person doesn't violate the written rules then why be censored

Well I'm actually enjoying talking about these kind of topics. On the contrary, II've seen and encountered worst. But... not really something I'd waste my time on lol

I happen to just type like this. Well, it does seem serious-ish so I understand :D

I do not identify as "atheist" and I don't like identifying as agnostic or spiritual either although I'm bit of both, identifying yourself like that is just like labeling yourself, It's one of the biggest problems of feminist movement nowadays, just an example let's not get sidetracked here.
Everyone has their right to believe what they want and I don't think trying to convert people in or out of religion(s) is good, the proper path is giving them your own two cents about that stuff.

The thing with "free speech" is that you can speak about what you want but by putting your opinion out there you subject yourself to counter arguments and stuff like that and yes the problem here was most likely just one salty mod who was fond of abusing power.

The problem with that is that it doesn't exist online. Every website has the power to censor you as they see fit. That's the only issue I have with your viewpoint. Aside from that I agree in that I don't think that kind of joke should be removed if others that can incite just as many arguments are left up. But again, websites as far as I know don't even need to follow their own rules all that well. If they leave it up to the moderators to figure out then it goes by each moderators personal opinion and there is no getting around it unless you make your case to the rest of the moderators and hope they come together and decide in your favor. Though even if they still say it should be deleted there isn't anything that can be done about it. It might be seen as unfair but websites don't have to be fair.

It kinda becomes the discretion of a moderator to censor someone or not, based on how they interpret one's idea.
Be it subjectively or objectively,
As they are moderators, they can do so... even if sometimes it's not so justifiable.

Hugh Mungus <-- look this up on youtube

it's probably the best joke ever

a SJW triggered and started yelling out "sexual harassment" because she didn't get the joke

these sjws and feminists like to claim assault when they are the one doing what they are accusing the other person of doing the entire time

this is the same as the SJW and the lyft driver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LdmBqJLYcU

sitting there and insulting the driver the whole ride then posted on twitter that she was assaulted..

in most cases they were dumb enough to shared the video online-- which backfired -- so they went into damage control mode--it's pointless after you post/upload something to the net..

Yes I can joke, I have freedom to talk. But I shouldn't hurt anyone or bully anyone. I know I can't please anyone but still I want to use my freedom in a good way.
