I notice that where now less comments and reviews. I recently watched one season that was filled with comments with 500+ likes and the second season barely getting any likes.

Did something happen or a lot of people recently stop watching anime?

Anime was a mistake. It's nothing but trash.

Well that's is because many people already don't have time for anime. Because have to go to school.

I watched anime when I was in school. Taking 24 minutes to watch an episode is not much.

People watch on steaming devices now. Tablets and rokus and game consoles. Commenting is either not possible or is a pain in the butt to do on them. Same with liking, probably. People are less inclined to do them on such devices.

It seams like there making plenty of money. The community hasn't gone anywhere. Animes popularity boom might be slowing down, but it's venture into the american main stream isn't over yet. No worries my friend. Crunchy isn't dissipating anytime soon.

I looked at the other anime websites at the top google search and the website designs look ugly as soon.

On Crunchyroll, everything is clean, organize, and in order, which am I gladly paying premium for.

If most of the streamers are on smart phones, it would explain the decrease in population on the comment selection.

Out of curiosity what's the show?

Is it currently airing? If yes, did you watch season 1 while it was airing? These are things that could factor into these stats.

If it's not currently airing it could just be a matter of Season 2 going in a completely different direction than viewers wanted and some lost interest and dropped the show.

Re:Zero, but people didn't complain until season 2 of episode 15.

Is not dying at all.

As many ppl stated, they're using other devices aside the usual PC web browser.

Also, I think a lot of ppl noticed already, but the vote system below the videos has changed; for bad or good, the most popular comment is not at the upper part anymore (at least on chrome, but think is a new rule for all browsers).

So I think when some ppl don't find comments that they feel ad hoc to comment along with, and knowing their comment will disappear as soon other comments appear after them, they just stopped to comment altogether.

Also, recently there is a bug where sometimes comments don't appear, or just a few of them appear, making the [more comments] button don't appear whatsoever, making some viewers believe just only 5-6 persons commented.

So there a lot of factors there, hope they fix the popular comment system and the bug that doesn't make comments load properly.

Also I'd love to see the comment section on the mobile devices. Gives a lot of sense of community to be able to talk about your favorite shows while you watch them. :3

I don't think it's dying, but as mentioned by others, there are several reasons you might not see the number of comments and reviews as in the past.

In my case, I just don't have time to watch much right now, and nothing this season piqued my interest anyway. Couple that with the nasty comment bug and I don't even bother with it.

No lol. I mean it's still kind of the beginning of the school year. People naturally can't be half as active as they used to. People still watch anime (probably) but they don't have the time to write reviews n stuff. If you want proof, go on the latest episode of a popular show of this season and look at the star rating on the right of the video. 100+ star ratings usually. On the subject of the big comments, re:zero was ridiculously hyped. Those are kind of expected.

I personally use Crunchyroll more than ever, but I somehow stopped talking to people or generally use this site for anything else than watching

Well don't I feel special. Feel like being on the frontier of anime, always viewing the newest anime before it's get popular.

Being 24 years old, it does feel weird that most of anime fanbase is kids.
