Yes unfortunately what Miyazaki wanted to convey was how Otaku is the problem within the Anime industry.

CR is not dead, but these forums aren't quite as lively as I remember and the quality discussion threads has also hit an all time low if you ask me.

I couldn't agree more.
It was different years ago.
Forum was livelier.

Did something happen or a lot of people recently stop watching anime?

I know an anime like that: Gundam Built Fighters gain huge popularity for its originality but its successor, Gundam Built Fighters Try, get low rating for reusing old plot elements at the cost of original plot. However, I do not understand why you think that Crunchyroll will become inactive just because it have an anime season that far below the standard of its predecessor.
I also do not get why you think that many people could stop watching anime unless the Capitalist elites unite under a hivemind to create economic sanction against anime, protect the oligopoly of the large noncompetitive American cartoon industries, and trap their citizen under the Capitalist delusion. The Suggestions/Feedback category on Help section did mention some anime censoring to some extant...

Honestly, I watch shows thru my roku, and I use the site for news and forums. My computer doesn't handle the crunchyroll player very well...

Are you scared or does it make you nervous?

To be honest, it just a phase. Things are suppose to grow, bloom, and then die.
I'll find some way, shape, or form to watch anime. Although having an almost year dry season(no good anime) doesn't help.
I have friends and family members ask for recommend and I couldn't offer one that worth their time, but they all watched One Punch Man that for sure.

Don't think so.
It's just there are fewer good anime this year. The golden age of anime was a few years ago, when so many good anime series came one after the other.

But there is Dragonball Super to look forward to, just to bring back nostalgia.

I prefer to use my ps4 to watch my anmie because the ultra4k tv is amazing compared to this crappy laptop so I'll happily sacrifice doing comments and such to see everything look so amazing.

As others have noted, the comments section is no longer sorted by popularity and that hurts the entire comments section. Looking at all the RTs and Likes that @Crunchyroll gets on Twitter, and the fact that they can secure a ridiculous amount of anime, and hearing that sequels are being created in Japan because of popularity on legal overseas streaming services tells me CR is more popular than ever.
