Long time ago....lost a UPS package later confirmed to be stolen by some yahoo cruising thru the apartment parking lots looking for freebies, I guess. After that incident everything of value arrived Signature Required per my request.

No, but I had a friend catch someone attempting to take a package from his front porch. You'd have to be the biggest scumbag in the world to do stuff like that.

None.

Although mail (like bills and such) sometimes gets just jammed in between the gates whenever no one is home (or the mailmen are too lazy to call anyone), most of the times, they do call out to see if anyone is at home. If the mail isn't that big a deal or something, they'd leave it to a neighbor. If it is important or if it's a package, they'd either just come back when someone is home or call the owner's to ask what they should do. Our neighbors had once told the delivery man to leave it with us (the guy gave us the phone to talk to our neighbors to ask if it's okay) and so they were able to receive their packages because we took care of it.

My mom sent me a package but to the wrong apartment number. She sent it to the unit below.me. We tracked the package and it was confirmed as received. I knocked on the door and some shady looking guy opened the door a little bit. I asked if he got a package with my name on it (which I know he did) but he said they didn't and closed the door on me quickly.

There's nothing I could do to prove it. The package didn't even have anything of value. Just a Turbo Tax cd and a some family photos.

This was, about 15 years ago. At the time I would come home late from work, around midnight. When I passed by his place I would pound loudly on his door and run away. I know it's juvenile but it pissed me off that this guy stole things absolutely worthless to him.

Never had that happen to me, but I saw a video once of a guy who rigged a fake package with a shotgun shell/blank so when the thief came to steal it, the shell went off and the dude came running to the door with a gun in his hand, yelling at her. Ah, American poetic justice.

I've had a package snatched off the porch before(order said it had been dropped off, and I came home to find it not present...So I'm pretty much left with that assumption being fact) I also had one incident where I've caught someone going through my mailbox and I had to chase them off; just a stupid kid being sleezy. I'm a fan of those large, bulky, one way chute mailboxes as a result.

Nope. My mailbox is the locked kind and when I'm expecting a package I watch for it.
