I don't know why they don't just have it like they do for comments in episodes.

I'd be weirded out if I posted something casual or something not meant to make a point and suddenly I see like 20 people gave my post a thumbs up. Comments on videos and news articles tend to be specific, not general statements or anything like that so they tend to be different from the usual forum post from my observations. Although I'm not sure why we even have the thumbs up/down buttons on forum posts.

Forums that have thumbs up or thumbs down on posts make me worry about whether people like or hate my posts, so I prefer to not have it.

I especially hate thumbs up or down in discussion threads because the mob thumbs down anyone who disagrees and thumbs up anyone who agrees with the mob.

Well yeah, I guess my point was, I just don't know why they're there when they don't serve any purpose. It's not like it really matters, though.

It gives you a thumbs up rush when you press thumbs up

It gives you a thumbs down rush when you press thumbs down

Didn't do anything for me when I pressed it though

Other than a little work being done on improving search results, being able to look for (only) your own posts, and moving the FAQ off the main site onto zendesk, the functionality of forum posting (bbcode) and interaction (thumbs, reporting to mod, quoting, etc) hasn't been improved on since I started here 5 years ago, and probably hadn't for long before that, too.

The structure/organization of the main divisions/classifications "where things are supposed to go" has changed at least twice, maybe three times since then, though. And, most notably, some previous features like the " wiki-like library", crunchyland, favorites and watch lists, some achievements and badges, links to the "groups" menu, several older classifications like "cars", "extended discussion" etc, etc, have either been reduced or eliminated; all overhead cost eliminations (storage, database maintenance, CPU/Server capacity) which weren't directly attributable as providing revenue. They also seem to be having difficulties with the comments sections lately, but that might just be a glitch; maybe...

So be careful in wishing for more changes, lest we wind up with something even less functional than we have now... Just sayin'... Look at Funimation, for instance, their forum has gone completely missing again, and Hulu's own comments/forum system was dropped and turned over to an uncontrollable facebook posting mess a couple years ago.

i will visit this site once in a while

but i have to say their forums format is well designed and how organized it can be when someone reply/quote/kudo/thumb up etc..

Go to your own profile page and scroll down on the left to see your statistics. The Forum posts stat will be a clicable link on your own profile only for your posts and threads you created:

I wish they'd actually work properly. They're completely and utterly useless.
