Im a couple years ahead of the party.

but I do want states other then mine and colorado to legalize weed too. If enough people realize that the ban itself does more harm then weed, then the sheer pressure will finally remove one of our worse laws out of national law. But we need the rest of yall man. Us 2 can't fight the power by ourselves.

i came across this video

KEYT Special: Politics Of Pot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYF4SqTmTsk

the video is pretty recent 10/31/2016

they covers all sides on this topic

the thing i was worrying about is also in the video

since allowing people to have 5-6 plants.. can lead to a lot of problems..

but there's one thing that we have to admit

Americans are addicted to drugs.. you can ban them all you want but they will still find ways to get them

so instead of throwing people into jail/prison.. now they are focusing on treatment for drug addicts..

like the heroin epidemic (as stated by Obama)

5-6 plants, oh no? that's the same as we can make as much beer as we want, oh no, what would happen if everyone were able to make however much beer they wanted? they could be perpetually drunk!

yes, but its a rather silly argument to assume that is the case.

and heroin.....is the same as the opioid pain killers that they get people hooked on.

and shhhh nobody talk about how the opium crop in afghanistan was almost entirely destroyed before the usa showed up and liberated the crop.

The legalization of it in all states (except perhaps Alaska) is pretty close to inevitable.

Most citizens are in favor of it, and a growing number of politicians as well.

I am sure plenty of people here know one or two people whose seizures are cured by it, when no other medication helped.

A rare few of you may also have friends who have turrets, and that too was helped by it.

Let's not forget the massive number of people who have cancer that need it.

To add to it, the hemp industry could replace thousands of other industries, making natural products that were less harmful.

Paper is a great example. Biofuel. Clothing. You name it, hemp can probably be used in it.

Environmentalists, scientists, people with chronic illnesses, a large number of politicians, and, of course, recreational users are in favor of legalization.

Needless to say, I am sure it'll happen sooner or later with varying restrictions from state to state.

It should be legal. There really hasn't been a legitimate argument against it poised...ever. Its now legal in Florida for medical usage.

It has been legal in my state for a few years now and like nothing has changed except that some really expensive pot shops have opened and everyone is fighting over how to spend the tax revenue.

Legalize it with restrictions. Just keep it the hell away from people who don't want to breathe that crap in, keep it a crime to drive high, tax it and I'll support it.

Why does the majority think the only way to consume it is by smoking?

Legalizing it would be fine, it would create a lot of jobs, generate tax revenue, and restrict kids from getting easy access to it. Some or most existing "green-based" businesses have to have ATM machines in their retail establishments because you can only pay in cash. It would be nice to just swipe a damn card. Only certain banks can allow weed-based businesses to open accounts with them.

Also, it's a plant. Let it grow, let it cure and treat.

Florida finally got something right for a change. Medical marijuana is now legal in our state. Not exactly sure why it didn't pass back in 2014 but at least the people have finally woken up (70%+).
