PS4 Pro: Power Consumption, Heat & Noise Tested!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wNoCnPxTp4

the thing that i wanted from the PS4 pro was the SATA III since i think it will help cut down the loading time

but seeing the power consumption/heat and noise level on this thing

it's more efficient than the original ps4 ..

i think i'll just go with the ps4 slim--

plus the PS4 slims ar $250 on black friday some retailers will give you a $40-$75 gift card as well!

if i can not get a good PS4 slim bundle then i'll look for the pro if not guess i'll pass on the PS4 pro

they have 4K tvs for $200 or something this black friday ?

i still don't think 4K is affordable yet

especially OLED 4K sets.. or those LCD-LED 4K with quantom dots and HDR

I'll get it when my PS4 quits working properly, otherwise I don't see a point in me getting one.

Not in Canada they won't

When media is in native 4K then I suppose I'll start looking for 4K displays.. current gen games are still mostly native 1080p so there's no rush.

In case you were wondering what kind of graphics the PS4 Pro can push out. This is "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare", 4K @ 30fps.
As someone who has a 4K PC rig... there's not many ways you're going to be able to tell me that you can get a PC to push out these kinds of graphics for $399. PC is great and flexible, but this does pretty well for upscaling/rendering at 4K for a console.

it will be a while.. since some of my local new channels are still in 720p

you have wal-mart in Canada too right ? bestbuy? target?

i saw 40in 4k tv for $200 .. or larger size for $300..

but these are not quantom dots and there's no hdr

PC gaming will always win out in the end

but for the same quality of graphic that the consoles can provide now a day.. you can't build a pc for the same price for the same level of graphic

it's the true

i got some pc gamer stating that they can.. by listing parts like intel celeron -- pretty much they are throwing Emachines at me as their counter argument.. reallY ?

if you have only $400 to build a gaming machine to compete with a ps4 pro.. the OS alone is a huge chunk

looks like there are some hiccups here and there with some of the games.. which are due to the developers not the hardware though

i don't think there's any sale on the ps4 pro at the moment..

so the ps4 slim bundle for $175-$210 is pretty tempting right now

maybe by next year when the Scorpio is out sony will slash the price of the ps4 pro by $50.. $350 by next year's black friday

Yeah, no. My desktop that's optimized for 4K output at 60fps ("properly" devouring my PS4 Pro in all ways possible) cost me about $2,300 without monitors. Mind you, the big chunk of this came from dual GTX 1080s in SLI and the 2TB SSD. So, even at that rate, you're looking at about $1,500 (i7 + one 1080 + 1TB SSD + 16GB of RAM). I utilized some of the contacts I have and some of the perks I've saved up through various sites and saved about $800 altogether from the total build. If you're looking at 4k output at 60fps - a Celeron or an i5 isn't going to be your best bet (they'll work but you're looking at similar to PS4 Pro framerate, 30-50fps).

Yeah, I knew that being an early adopter of the PS4 Pro will have its downsides. Fortunately for me, I still have my base model for all non-PS4 Pro enabled games and games that are experiencing framerate drop. I had mastered Last of Us and Shadows of Mordor, they look prettier on the PS4 Pro but there are a few dips at times in framerates (as shown in your linked video).

Only reason I chose the Pro over the Slim is because I already have a base model. I'll get rid of it in a few months by giving it to a friend or family member who wants a PS4 (versus selling it to someone else). By then, I'm hoping most of the "kinks" are out. I've noticed that most of those with issues are those who were patched post-released (CoD seems fine, so does Dishonored 2. both of which were shipped out with the PS4 Pro patch). So I'm sure this will slowly work themselves out as more games are released pre-patched/designed with the PS4 Pro in mind. Those with dips in framerate can still get updates to fix the issue (thankfully).

It was a situation I knew was going to come with some initial downsides. Same goes with the PS VR - it's great but developers need some time to get it where it "should" be (in my mind).
