I wish I could have a pig

and a chicken lol, but my city wont let me have them :C -this isn't for my city though fyi-

if a animal is the size of a dog, clean, doesn't cause trouble then it should be allowed to stay in a home and not have to be removed from the family, this is stupid

While I agree in principal with the proposed matter I do have to wonder if this family was aware of this law before choosing to make this "Raisin" a part of their family or if they were ignorant of the law. The former is a clear and wilful violation of a by-law and earns no sympathy from me for the family, only for this mini pig since it will be the one to suffer. The latter earns only my derision since it is each individual person's responsibility to learn the laws of their city, state ( province ), and or country. Especially when it comes to the choosing of pets.

Making an animal suffer simply to make some grandiose gesture that you don't agree with the laws of your living place is the worse kind of thing I believe an individual can do outside of rape and murder. I honestly hold drug dealers and drinkers above such people and we all know how I feel about drug dealers and those that consume alcohol.

Let him have his pig. It's not hurting anyone.

I happen to agree but I want more backstory. There is always backstory to everything and it isn't always pretty.

Can't find any real backstory. So I'm just going to take a wild guess and say like most cities they have ordinances against keeping farm animals on residential properties and these people think their's shouldn't count because its smaller and has a bandanna.

Little trickier than that as it'll likely be a matter of local zoning ordinances. The legality of mini-pigs seems to vary from place to place in Oklahoma.

You can get the city codes from the official City of Salupa website, but it takes some looking apparently.

Then it is entirely typical of government process, and as such that family would have a better chance moving to a pig farm than trying to keep Babe in their house.

So there're just idiotic morons who think they can flout city by-laws simply by some perceived sense of injustice. It's one thing to indulge in civil disobedience, it's another thing entirely to drag an innocent animal into your lunacy. These people have lost all my sympathy.

One of the reasons why pigs aren't approved pets is because they have been known to eat people. I know it doesn't seem like it, but it is true. They aren't going to hunt anyone down but they will eat a corpse and they can even dig them up to eat them.

Now another reason is that they'll eat almost anything. A dead animal with rabies for instance...

People really don't appreciate how many hundreds of years it has taken to domesticate the house animals that exist today...

That's a terrible idea, there are many cats and dogs that are left by their owners and become strays. Can you imagine an abandoned pig walking around the city street and living off trash?
