Thanksgiving is the time where a lot of people will hit the road or fly back home for the dinner

are you coming home ? coming over to a friend/relative/co-worker's house for the dinner?

or hosting the dinner at your own house ?

it will be a long drive for us

wouldn't it be nice if you we Thanksgiving+ Christmas + New year in one week! that way we can get 1 week off and don't have to fly back and forth over those 3 major holidays

save a lot on gas/time/money of going back and forth

homeless shelters or some churches will also offer Thanksgiving Dinner for those who don't have somewhere to go on Thanksgiving day

Not driving 1,100 miles just to eat dinner with the family. Ima cook my own Thanksgiving dinner or join my professor if he invites me again this year.

He's better off going to a church he'll get robbed and beaten to a bloody pulp by other homeless people at the homeless shelter. So best bet is Church.

Doing the same thing I do every Thanksgiving for the past many years - preparing open meal for all at a local park. Planning on about 400-600 folks this year, already had to start cooking turkeys since I couldn't thaw/cook/store/serve them in time otherwise!

Hopefully visit my folks for a bit sometime the week before, but no chance the day of.

I live in Canada, so we celebrated Thanksgiving about a month ago.

A few of my American friends come to my place after work on American Thanksgiving, though, and I do a nice roast dinner and pumpkin pie. It's much more casual, and we don't have family in the country so it's only among friends.

We don't have thanksgiving either. At Christmas, I'll stay in my own home. I'm not a fan of grid lock traffic or the holiday train rush just to travel for hours to see some family. It's nicer to see them in the summer when travel is less hassle. I'll just stroll over to my friend's place for dinner as I've been doing for the last 5 years and well all cook and eat. I got tired of spending my holidays in everyone else's home and bed but my own.
