Are you aware of your own biases? Or do you just say what you say without any second thoughts or hesitation?

Just curious since I don't know how other people think.

At times, what is assumed to be bias by others is actually a result of a lot of reading and researching all based on a desire to really find the truth of some matters.

A lot of it is in the delivery, I suppose, because being too direct will often turn people off that might otherwise be sitting on the fence on a matter.

Ya know, like calling people fools for believing the top 20 floors of a building can crush the bottom 90 floors to a fine dust, with a good percentage of the steel being dust too. It doesnt really help them understand that such a thing is physically impossible.

^ Okay, Raised, now let's get to the OP's more specific question of "Do you hear voices in your head telling you what to do?"...

Huh, I did word that weirdly. What I mean is do people generally say things that are biased in either direction without any thought to it, or is there some sort of cognitive dissonance that they choose to ignore while saying something biased?

Especially curious about this when people start arguing on a thread.

Intrinsically, I am not aware of any biases I am unaware of...

But I am aware of at least some of my own biases, and I've never been directly told of any others. I try to think about why I do or feel things, and think about if I'm right in the process. Some things probably slip through the cracks, though.

Good point, Everyone has biases they're unaware of and can't do anything about.

I guess that's why I hate arguing on threads. (Even though I do it sometimes)

I feel stupid and/or like a jerk when I'm not aware of my own biases, especially when they hurt someone - and I know I have more biases than I'm aware of, they're kind of a thing we all live with.

So I do try to keep the ones I know about in mind as I go about my day, and know that as I'm made aware of others, I'll work to fix those as well. Incremental improvement is still improvement.

Biases I have no real biases in anything I say or do. The things I believe in and the opinions I share are the result of the evidence my own experiences have taught me. Unlike some punk ass emo cunt who thinks they have a right to comment on the actions of soldiers when all they've done all their life is live in their parents basement and flip hamburgers for a living.

I am always truthful, direct, and forthright in everything I say and do. if that is bias then I don't care to be unbiased. Since that would make me a liar and a worthless individual.

We are all biased one way or another most of what we do is based on self interest.

Well way to just judge the entirety of the human race in a single sentence mate. Plenty of people have done selfless things their entire lives. Don't project your short comings onto the human race , it doesn't appreciate it mate.

So you're equating self interest as selfishness LOL. Look self interest is not a bad thing looking out for the important people in your life versus complete strangers is not a bad thing. And looking out for yourself over looking out for others is not wrong either because you have to take care of yourself.

Shortcomings? I help people on a daily basis and just this morning some homeless dude walked in to a Wendys everyone blew him off and I just gave him half of my breakfast and i expected nothing in return and I don't even have a steady and stable job. SO PLEASE GO FUCK YOURSELF.

Both. Having bias doesn't mean it's not worthwhile to be honest and even crass. It's not good to constantly second-guess ourselves and hold our tongues.
