I prefer my ice to be frozen teardrops.

I use spherical ice cubes for alcoholic drinks (for some reason, it helps when pouring whiskey or scotch over it - it cools faster than other shapes). For others, I prefer just regular cubes.

Truth be told, i really like chipped ice in my drinks. Granted it melts pretty fast, it gets your drink colder faster than other ice. There's a pizza place nearby that does their ice chipped into flakes and it makes the drinks go perfect with the pizza

Large crescents is my favorite. My second favorite isn't listed; flakes.

It's just ice. Why does it matter it shape? It'd melt anyways unless you live in Canada or Yakutsk where is below -40 degrees and you care about keeping the esthetic of ice shapes.

I hate ice in my drinks. I don't drink it fast enough and then it melts and tastes all watery towards the bottom.

Because of the surface area, sphere takes longest to melt, but also longest to chill the drink. If you're going to be drinking a long time, sphere would be best. If you just want to chill your drink quickly and then guzzle it down, then you're looking for shaved ice.

My normal drinking behaviors, then, mean that I prefer spherical when available.
