In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I know a Commonwealth tradition might mean little to the largely American population of Crunchyroll. But I'd like to remind us all of the people to whom we owe a lot to . To the those that suffered the horrors of the trenches of World War 1, To the those who fought against the evil of the Third Reich in World War 2, to those that held the line in Korea, to those who served in the UN missions after that.

Canadians, Americans, British, French, Polish, East Indians, Mexicans, Brazilians, Chinese, Australians, New Zealanders, and more fought and died for a better world. And I think we all owe it to them to remember that. A better world, not individual nations. Men and Women died on soil that was not their homeland.

Our foe isn't some misplaced xenophobic ideal it's the hatred, anger, and evil that is still out there. We can't just ignore it . Or we risk dishonouring the memory of men and women far greater then we are. Of the soldiers who gave their lives on the front lines, of their families and friends left behind. And of the ideals they believed in so strongly they risk everything and ended up giving everything.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All.
