I have played Fire Emblem Awakening, that story line was just really good, waking up in some field and all that stuff happening, I didn't get to pass it though so I may look for it later after I pass this one, I gotta stick with one and focus on that before anymore, still even this one is good I really like the side story conversations they add a lot of character, also playing on classic mode makes everything I do count, as in if my player dude dies they go away permanently, so every battle matters, that difficulty changes the way I play the game

I agree, I do think if they decide to continue the series they have a way to make it more... of a crossover?
You know instead of them being dragged over they are summoned over by the protagonist.
Hopefully the Switch brings a new home console Fire Emblem, it's been far too long.

Fire Emblem Echoes, a re-imaging of Fire Emblem Gaiden (NES), was announced for the 3DS today. They also announced they are working on a new FE game for the Switch.

Thanks for sharing! I'm excited to see a new Fire Emblem game in the works, even if it is a re-imaging. It's gonna be fully voiced as well! How exciting!

I wanted to like it. I really did. Hearing how much everyone loved it actually convinced me to buy a 3DS just to play it as I had no interest at all in anything else on the system. I was that committed. But then I played it and was massively underwhelmed by pretty much every aspect of it, from the combat to the characters to the relationship system. Just not my cup of tea and I've got a dust gathering 3DS to prove it.

Don't forget that they've also given a date for Fire Emblem Heroes for Android and iOS. For those wondering, it's going to come out on Android on February 2nd. No known information that outlines how much it may cost, if at all. I think it may focus on micro transactions for a gatchapon-type system for obtaining "rare" or "unique" characters (Lucina will be rare AF, I'm sure).

I just bought a 3DS today for a Nuzlocke challenge. One of my friends recommended Fire Emblem in passing.

It looks good, which game should I start with?

A few notes maybe someone can touch on:

1. I like darker games, consequences count

2. I like to be able to influence the story

3. I don't want to play the 100th tactics game on accident, don't care how good the story is. Been there, done that.

Edit: Some of my favorite games are Persona 3 and 4, FF6 and FF9, Catherine and Pokemon

Who was a expecting a Gaiden remake? lol. I've played the original game, and while it's fun, it isn't the best aged game so it's definitely deserving of a remake. They even got Hidari (from a few of the Atelier games) for the character designs which is awesome. Hope this means that Genealogy of the Holy War, and Thracia 776 will eventually get remakes down the line.

Forest Fire Emblem you might want to start with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the DS. It is a remake of the first Fire Emblem game and, possibly, has the most consquences to actoons. However, story wise, you can start with nearly any of the games and be okay. Fire Emblem: Conquest for the 3DS, I feel, has a slightly grittier story among the new games.

(Replace FF6 with FF8 and those are some of my favorite games too!)

I just got into it, I went with Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright because I was unsure if the permadeath thing was going to be my cup of tea, I'm at chapter 20 of it. I have to say that the intro to Fates is one of the best 3D videos I have ever seen. In terms of what it does, it's one of the best uses of 3D I have seen in any full length movie.

I'm here. Just started a Fe:Fates Lunatic Classic Conquest run. Not as bad at the start but it'll probably become hell later. Fe:Awakening Lunatic had a stupid hard start (because of rng) and a much easier ending. Especially after getting kid units.
I am going to enjoy seeing this later.

Thanks kimbeey13! I should try FF8 again. A lot of it was ruined by the fact the main character's name was Squall and not Cloud. Loved the card game too, may need to start it back up

No problem! I hope you enjoy the Fire Emblem series!

I actually played FF8 before FF7, I believe, so I had the opposite problem with the main character. Though, I have yet to play FF6 or anything after FF10-2.

I found Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon rather bland. The lack of older Fire Emblem features like supports and rescue, no characterization aside from the recruit lines was a turn off. And that art style is really boring, lol.
