So President-elect Trump has released details for his transition team. And I need a little help understanding how this is supposed to work with his previous claim that he would hand his companies over to his kids to prevent a conflict of interest. If his kids are going to be this involved in his transition to the presidency, how does this not breach any appearance that there are conflicts of interests with those business holdings?

President-elect Trump also announced that the following leaders will join the Presidential Transition Team Executive Committee:

Congressman Lou Barletta
Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi
Congressman Chris Collins
Jared Kushner
Congressman Tom Marino
Rebekah Mercer
Steven Mnuchin
Congressman Devin Nunes
Anthony Scaramucci
Peter Thiel
Donald Trump Jr.
Eric Trump
Ivanka Trump

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus
Trump Campaign CEO Stephen K. Bannon

What the hell? Didn't he bring this up months ago? I would have assumed that someone would have told him about it by now.

Transition team is only from now until he gets sworn in. Then it no longer exists. Save your tears for when Trump repeals Obamacare.

The tears are from laughing so hard at how ridiculous and corrupt this looks. Before he's even in office.

He is a private citizen until he gets sworn in. When we see blatant law-breaking corruption like Hillary or he starts making proclamations like our King Obama, then we can worry.

This is yet another thing about his "transitioning team" that had made me laugh. All of those on this forum that went on to say that he'll stop corruption and crony capitalism... yet, Trump has been in on it the whole time.

So the transition team, the team setting plans and agendas for Trump's move into the Oval Office, is somehow not involved in how Trump is going to govern as president? Seems like to be named on that team, they're involved with more than helping their dad move furniture.

He can put whoever he wants in his cabinet. Like Obama said when he won 8 years ago, 'I won, you lost, so you go to the back of the bus'

Insider information is a fair bit more serious than cronyism.

That's great and all. Except for the part where these are the kids Trump claimed he would put in charge of his business holdings as a 'blind trust'.

The point is that we're going to continue to have rampant Cronyism with Trump. The irony isn't lost on me at all.
Trump is a businessman first, president second. You think he wouldn't bargain with lobbyists to ensure that they "look out" for his businesses while they're being managed/operated by his children? Good luck.

I agree it's the transitioning team and they'll be gone at the team of his inauguration. However, this only sets the precedence for his term in office. Make all the excuses you want. He may have been the "lesser of evils" for conservatives but he sure as hell isn't going to do anything to kill off cronyism in the government.

Yeah, congress has been doing it for 100 years. Maybe trump will finally put a stop to it.

Maybe it's just me, but this and other threads like it just seem like reaching to me. Just like every other thing said about Trump in the last year and a half, it seems like people are just looking for things to complain about and trying to beat that drum to death.
