I don't get this joke and how it related to ceiling fans. It must be....over my head.

I use it all year long. Most ceiling fans have a switch to reverse directions for winter/summer use. The fan should usually spin clockwise in the winter so that the paddles force the warm air at the ceiling out and down. Use low speed.

I always keep it on low. It's just for circulating air, not for cooling.

I don't have a ceiling fan but I use the fan I do have all year long. It's basically a white noise that drowns out drunks/parties that may be being loud at any time of the night.... (Only downside to living in an off-campus apartment complex for college students.....

I don't have one currently, but the answer is probably 'when the motor burns out'.

Mine sometimes makes a buzzing sound if I leave it on too long. That's pretty much the only time I ever turn it off.

I never stop using it. I get hot very easy so I always have it running along with a second stand fan and even in winter keep my window open a crack.

When it gets cold. I don't really keep track of when that happens.

I lost the luxury of a ceiling fan the moment I moved five years ago. I do turn of my window fan when it gets around fifty degrees, though.
