Wait a minute, you mean to say is that your sword is a nihonto also?

Well you did see the "Forge: Hand forged by Sekimoto Masahiro in Aizu, Fukushima, Japan" right?
Who made your sword?

Dont know actually, its unsigned so probably made by an apprentice of some swordsmith.

If it's unsigned, it's most likely not a nihonto. All nihonto are verifiable by a signature. Every school of swordsmithing has their own mark and even apprentices sign the blade.

Where did you acquire it?

Oh, I bought it from ebay. So if its not a nihonto, then who do you think made it or where?

Hmmm... No clue. I personally don't trust buying swords on ebay. You can see the amount of scammers are prevalent there.

Are there no markings? Maybe on the nakago?

Oh I replied to your rather distressing predicament here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-73491/blades.html#8532600

Oh and I should probably let this be known; The clearest way to tell if a katana is not a katana and is a cheap piece of factory made stainless steel crap (otherwise known as wallhangers, not swords.) is to check the side of the blade near the edge and if there is a very perfect jagged edge, it's crap. If there is an irregular wave to it, it's called a Hamon and means that it is hand forged.

Although unsigned the sword is quite old so I dont think its fake.
But do you think its just a sword made by some Chinese in the past?

I'd have to see it up close. Or atleast high quality high resolution pictures of the koshirae, hamon, and nakago.
