http://gematsu.com/2017/01/atlus-persona-5-yakuza-0-not-planned-switch-pc

I thought Yakuza is a Sega's series?

with the specs of the Switch.. i think they will have their own unique games like with the Wii-U

the era of a game being released on Playstation,XBox,nintendo, portable and PC a is over

now mostly it's just PS4, Xbox1 and PC..

Atlus is owned by Sega; this happened a couple of years ago when Sega bought Index Corporation, of which Atlus was a branch. Moreover, Sega of America's regional HQ has been combined with Atlus' American office, so that everybody now works under the same roof. This is why someone from Atlus can talk about distribution for both Yakuza and Persona, because in reality both are actually Sega games.

Atlus is owned by Sega?

i didn't know these 2 companies also merged as well

Bandai Namco
Square Enix
Koei Tecmo

wait. ..they didn't combine their names like the other companies though ?

i guess to avoid confusion?

Sega is a much bigger company then Atlus, no merger took place. Sega has actually been buying quite a few developers over the years, such as Creative Assembly (Total War franchise) and Relic Entertainment (Company of Heroes franchise) to mention two other prominent examples.

Of course, Sega has been taking a fairly hands-off approach to the acquisition of Atlus; allowing Atlus' development teams to continue making the game they want. Sega primarily provides financial support and technical expertise where needed. Under Sega's oversight Persona 5 has become a much more ambitious game then would have been possible with Atlus' previously limited resources.

The first one I play was Yakuza 3, which I really liked and at the same time I was sad that I missed the previous ones on PS2..
Got Yakuza 4 later aswell, which I liked even more.

Not playing on console anymore though. (Still have my old PS3 lol)

I got Yakuza Kiwimi 3-4 weeks ago for $12. I hope I'll get around to play it soon. I don't have a lot of time to play games now a day.
