Post Reply what would you do if michelle obama ran for 2020
Posted 11/12/16 , edited 11/12/16
Inwardly vomit. The thought of another presidential dynasty-thing is cringe-worthy, especially when it's Michelle who's rhetorically running. She has several chips on her shoulders that bother me, her experience with so much as managing people is lacking, and I really don't want to see a rehash of "Obama-vacationing."

So far our choices for the 2020 democrat candidates aren't looking too good, but it's still 2.5 to 3 years before anyone actually starts running so there's still a lot of room for hope. The real candidates will mostly likely be people we're not thinking of or even know of yet. Democrats at the end of 2004 were probably getting ready for Hillary and then a first-term senator came out of nowhere 3 years later and we all know how that went...

Michelle Obama doesn't look as power hungry as Hillary does to me. If she does run for any office ever, it likely won't be the presidency. Or maybe it'll be a repeat of 2016 when all my predictions were wrong and we do end up with Michelle Obama vs. Trump. The worst possible outcome would be we end up with Trump debating Kanye. Whatever the case, the party is going to need new leadership after this humiliating defeat.

Depends on her platform? I would like for her to run for senate for a few years first and then come back and run for president. I don't know that I would vote for her but I could see it as a possibility.

The left all aren't like SJWs. There are rational leftists and left centrists amid the mob of whiny safe spacing fiends.

I for one will never fully agree with republicans as long as I live regardless, conservative ideology is simply not, and will probably never be for me. I'm not saying that the extremist left's form of 'progressivism' is better than the regressive right, by no means, they're both sides of the same coin, you'll just never find me siding much with the conservative side of politics, so I will probably never ID with it.

Oh yeah I know very well. However the SJW's and regressives pretty much own and control the Democratic party's direction currently.

I still don't like the republican party much, I think they are not much better than the Democrats. I am a TRUMP supporter and a centrist-conservative not a Republican. However when forced to pick between a regressive and a Republican, it usually ends up me voting Republican. God I wish we had a good third party. Sadly the Third party in my county are worse than the Republicans.

I didn't like either of their campaigns, but I still would've picked her over him if for 'character' alone. They're both pretty deplorable people to me, but I think that he's worse to some extent, and his VP is more of a lunatic than he is.

Trump to me comes across as a raging narcissist, and as someone who was raised by a narcissist, I know how incapacitating the nature of one can be. The idea of that running a country is what turns my stomach most, aside from the fact that Pence is even more nightmarish than the politicians from my very religious-right home state.

If Trump only cares about Trump, then how will the decisions of Trump affect a country containing eight million citizens aside from himself? I sense that something will plummet regardless, be it economically, socially, generally. I don't think there will be a nuclear war, nor will there be mass hysteria and killing of LGBTQ people, nor the undoing of very notable laws, however, I can't help but feel a bit uneasy.

Perhaps, because even the republicans claim to despise Trump being twofaced and flopping political parties to appeal to a wider demographic, they will dodge him at every turn and nothing will get done. Perhaps.

The point to the entire situation is to more or less wait and see how things will ensue. If he somehow doesn't end up getting shot or maimed horrible between now and January by some psycho, there's no telling exactly what'll happen.

This is something that the progressives could have asked themselves, and even prepare for in four years. Instead, they have chosen the path of violence, and hatred.

I'd say "Well, she's nice and all, but she's not particularly politically qualified."
In fact, so has SHE, on numerous occasions.

(Oyyyyyyyyy......Ho-kay, so this is how it officially starts ALLLL over again for the NEXT twenty years, isn't it?
You don't know why Obama got eight years, so the terror of an "unstoppable Obama Dynasty", un-freakin'-quote, means we now depict Michelle as a "power-hungry tyrant", try to stymie all possible Democratic success to keep that doomsday scenario from happening, and scrape up any looney black female Republican candidates you can find for '20 to "counter" it? Ballpark, horseshoes, reasonably close?
Well, see, problem with trying to auto-replicate that strategy is...it doesn't work: Whole point was, Hillary actually WAS a power-hungry tyrant, Michelle wasn't. That's why everyone talks about liking Michelle so much even if they wouldn't actually vote for her in the real world.
When Democrats said "I'd rather have her on the ballot instead", it was meant as a comparative statement.)

Umm, it's the Republicans that seem to have serious problems finding a candidate they can agree on and stand behind. They never know what they want because they never manage to get a clue that the American public will never support anyone who brands themselves with ideas of a theocracy and all the brash misinterpretations of the Bill of Rights that the Christian Church keeps trying to spread.

Depends on her policies, but from the little I've heard from her, no. Probably not getting my vote.
