I wonder how is she taking all of this? What's her main arguments? And what's her administrations main focus? The economy? Immigrants?

Let's see Merkel's real competition is a Socialist dude and a women I suspect of leading a party of closet Neo-Nazis...who's party is under investigation by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. Okay I don't know how the Germans handle politics but in Canada that kind of suspicion on a official level usually disbars anyone from running for office.

Zzz. Certain... people talking about the German election and people without proper knowledge on how it works.

Always fun to read.

Edit: http://www.n24.de/n24/Nachrichten/Politik/d/9401370/mehrheit-fuer-erneute-kanzlerkandidatur-merkels.html

Brief translation: 59% of people would like to see Merkel run again in 2017. Only 35% don't want her to run again. The rest really don't care.

If they vote for the AfD, I will want to cry. I would have to move to Canada then! I don't have Canada citizenship either... Only German and US.

Yeah, sure. Let's vote for people who openly state that they would gun down immigrants who try to cross the borders illegally.

Scroll down to the "Migrant background and foreign nationality" section of the article. I don't see Germans dying out anytime soon. It is this kind of pointless fear mongering that makes people vote for conservative nutcases.

I feel you. I am about to move to Germany in the next few months. I do not intend to move from one conservative country to another.

It's Germany, who the hell cares. Not like voting will change much of anything with all major parties being somewhere between left to radical left wing. Even the AfD is just moderate left, but because the AfD is not as so totally left like the others it's the evil right wing party. Also Merkel is here to stay.
