humans are social creatures-- so if you are lonely

call a friend/family member/co-worker

or join a club after school or volunteer

if you can i would recommend to volunteer at the local homeless shelter or food bank or animal shelter

you might meet your life partner there..

sorry but the word "loneliness" reminded me of this song

I've been single for over a year now and while I sure miss having a partner I can't really say I'm lonely. I mean I've still got friends and my dog. Liking your own company helps a lot too, learning to be fine by yourself. Can't depend on others for your happiness. It does help with boredom though??

Not really. There was a time where I was gaming and watching anime simultaneously to avoid thinking about it, but it just comes back later on.

I feel like watching light-hearted anime makes you forget the loneliness, but it only lasts while you watch it. When you finish the series you feel empty again until you find another anime to watch, which fills he void xD. It's actually a really vicious cycle

I don't think I've ever really been lonely while not in a relationship; however, I have been lonely while actually in a relationship (no, it didn't work out).

Anime is, like most things, a distraction and a good one, too! I like watching anime mostly because of how intense the storylines can be. The plot and climax of a good anime can be just as elaborate, emotional, and complex as a live-action series. That's what keeps me watching it.

I would like to think so. It's certainly capable of distracting me for a specific amount of time. Who knows how I would have felt had I not decided to spend the mentioned time watching anime? And if I make the decision to watch anime while feeling lonely, I get to focus on the events that unfold in the show I am watching. That tends to help against this feeling. Loneliness is one of those temporal occurrences that tend to fade away whenever a person does not actively focus on them. Unless it's chronic loneliness, of course.
