As for being a huge disaster. All signs point to yes and I have yet to see anything that assures me otherwise so far.

So, you're saying you're not interested in Ben Carson possibly being Secretary of Education?

Depends on what the Dems have to offer. If it's another fiasco like this most recent election I sincerely doubt it.

Wait and see.

I was just wondering. What happens if Trump is a huge disaster?
Then he won't win again in 2020.
Let's say instead of making America great again all Republicans do is repeal women's right to have abortions, help big businesses and not small ones and bring racism to new heights.
Even as an example that's ridiculous. Yes, Trump is anti-abortion but if that is one of the most disatrous things that could happen with Trump as president, then we don't have too much to worry about. If women don't want kids, then they shouldn't have sex, or at least use birth control. I don't feel like I even need to explain why the racism example is dumb.
What if we head into another recession or an actual depression? What will all of you Trump supporters do then? Will you ride that wave of hopeful change that you rode to elect trump and then vote Democrat?
If Trump's presidency causes an event on par with the great depression, then that means something is wrong with Trump, not republicans. We won't necessarily vote democrat just because one republican president was a disaster.
I'm generally curious as to how everyone feels. Just for the sake of argument let's say that Trump is a disaster. Our economy suffers and the racial tensions escalate.
I really doubt Trump will increase racial tensions. He'll probably decrease them, even if he is a disaster. The main reason Trump was elected is because we're sick of this politically correct society. We're also sick of the pandering towards minorities. If minorities stop being pandered, white supremacy stops being a delusion many people see in our society, and social justice as a whole disappears, then racial tensions will fall, which is what will happen with Trump as president.
Will you all then be willing to vote for the other side? I don't want to start a flame war and this isn't a post about Republicans vs Democrats per se but more of a what if you were all wrong and things get much much worse?
I'm not saying it can't get worse, but it wouldn't be in the ways you just stated. Those are delusions supplied by the media.
I'm hopeful that despite so many misgivings that Trump can and will do good things. His appointment of Bannon as his Chief Strategist gives me pause though. Sorry but that man and infowars are absolutely insane.
Infowars and Bannon are insane? How?
Instead of appointing someone who can bring a sigh of relief to the nation he appoints the most racially divisive man he can find. Bannon has been outspoken about blacks, jews and pretty much every other minority out there. He's a real nasty piece of work but this question really isn't about him.
How is being outspoken a bad thing? He's not pandering to minorities, which is something that has been causing problems in our country for the past 8 years. By not pandering to minorities, we can stop tension.
Still, history has shown that Trump actually leans more to the left than to the right on many issues so that brings me some relief. I guess only time will tell but what if? If things really get worse what will you do? Who will you vote for?
I will vote based on which candidate I think is best.
Hopefully this scenario won't happen and things will either A. Get better or B. stay the same. We'll just have to wait and see. Personally if things get worse I will be voting either All Democrat down the ballot or all independent down the ballot.

To answer your question, I'm not going to vote democrat is Trump is a disaster. I will vote whichever candidate I think is best regardless of how left or right they are.

Well, I suppose Carson as a choice is a little less inane than some of the other republican noms (*cough* Cruz *cough*), but then again, there's Pence, who's just about the worst evangelist moron of a Bible Belting, Pants on Head Idiot I've ever seen. Even Indianians from what I hear, a primarily red state mind you, think the bastard is insane.

Hopefully Trump has him more there as a prop but I don't trust much in his hands as a VP whatsoever. I'd rather have Trump stick around despite despising the guy publicly if it means that Pence isn't given the higher power. Like people who're rooting for Trump assassination cease to understand that the Pence alternative is so, so much worse. Trump won't outright revoke rights for LGBT people and abortion as easily, not comparatively to his psycho VP.

What makes you think he won't become a corrupt asshole? Remember he has to work with those corrupt assholes if he is voted in.

Voting strictly by party is stupid. It irritates me when people are completely against one side or the other no matter who the candidates are. It's just mindless and lazy. I will vote for whoever seems to be the best candidate for me at the time.

Infowars is a conspiracy website run by Alex Jones and Bannon was head of Breitbart with their crazy ass nutjobs crapping out editorials. It was decent at a time apparently.

The democratic party has now become a grass roots party with the prospect of a trump presidency. Since millions of Americans learned that had they voted this election they could have swayed the results expect a huge raise in the democratic party or a new third party. Only 18.2% of the the population voted for trump and 18.7% voted for Clinton; this revelation has people pissed off as you can see in the anti-trump protests, so many more people will vote next time around and its looking like those people on the left are consolidating power/voters and are rallying behind the democratic banner. The current power structure oft the democratic party have broken ranks in a sense because of the backlash of the election loss, wiki leaks, and the FBI scandal and are currently licking there wounds. So the either the democratic party will win in 2020 or another party that the disenfranchised democrats/independents will form.

I'm far more worried that Trump will be Pence's prop than visa versa and yes, I've been saying that for awhile now. If Trump is impeached, steps down, etc, we get Pence. Fundie asshole extraordinaire. Combined with a GOP held congress and at least one Supreme Court pick? Pence would be a fucking nightmare.
