So tell me is wanting to have a child a selfish thing to do? As oppose to not wanting a child, how is having a child deemed selfish? What do you think?

Enjoy!!!

I always laugh when people say 'I can't wait to have a kid'
'Im gonna spoil them'
'I've always wanted a kid'
Imo it makes it sound like they're getting an exotic pet

i don't see why it would be selfish. you're dedicating your limited resources to raise a child.

no, it just means you're prioritizing other things. maybe you don't have the resources to raise a child, or maybe you don't like children.
(of course, by 'you' i mean people in general who choose not to have kids)

IMO yes.

I always hear people say my wish for Immortality is selfish but it's like ....so is your wish to have kids.

You bring a life into this world with no choice and it may suffer.
Then you force it to live even if it wants to commit suicide.
i could go on but having children imo is selfish.

in the same way people find for example immortality selfish.
In the end you are doing it to keep your genes going.

The child gets no say in whether its born and if it has to suffer or not.

Having a child is something people only do to pass their genes down or because they want to have a kid.
Both are selfish things in reality.

which is funny as i always laugh when people call my dreams selfish then go on to have three or four kids.

It's not selfish. Not in the slightest.
