I was wondering if there was any underlying reason as to why I can only stream at full quality at certain times of the day? I can stream anything on crunchyroll perfectly at ALL times on my computer (Mac), but not via the Xbox app, and I was wondering if there was any reason as to why the time seems to affect quality. This issue occurs on FUNimation as well, though it only works at certain times on BOTH my computer and Xbox app, rather than just failing to preform on my Xbox. It's going to be real embarrassing when any reply to this thread is,"Dude, you just have shitty internet.", (Which I don't think I do) but on the off chance there is something a little deeper than that I would really really appreciate any help anyone could offer!

Crunchyroll uses two different content delivery networks; one for the Flash web browser streams and another for HLS device streams. AFAIK, Funimation uses only a single CDN for all their streams.

As to why you experience the problem with both services at all, keep in mind that the internet is not a point to point connection. CR's end could be working fine, your end could be working fine, but if any of the points in between are having an issue, the connection will be subject to that.

Thanks for the advice TheAncientOne! Are there any common things you know of that could cause any of these "points in between" to be acting up, or more importantly, if they're things I could fix or things that would be out of my control?

Outside of your home network, there isn't much you could do. It may be a bottleneck on your ISP, between your ISP and another network, or on a network the CR CDN is connecting through. You may have some luck contacting your ISP and asking them to investigate, but I is unlikely they will feel there is any issue unless your Internet connectivity is affected.
