Do you think you'll ever grow out of anime or at least change your personal taste as you get older?

I notice that now I tend to watch less anime than before and I find that my personal taste also has changed. I used to watch a lot of ecchi slice of life animes with a "plot", now I don't.

I'll probably change my tastes, but I probably won't stop watching anime or playing video games.

So far so good, I don't think so. I think my standards have gotten higher the more I learn about cinematography and the process of animation, but I adore the tropes and I don't see that stopping any time soon.

Probably. It's changed a lot since I was a kid.

Most of my favorite series were shounen or action-heavy shoujo. InuYasha, Naruto, that sort of thing. I can still enjoy the occasional series like that, especially the ones I've been following since the early 2000s, but I prefer drama and romance series now. Seinen and josei, which I guess makes sense since I 'aged out' of the shounen/shoujo demographic.

I've become so picky over time and pretty much have already grown out of it.

Seems like it. I haven't been interested in watching CR's anime line up for like 5 season now. I liked Natsume Yuujinchou and Wagnaria, which have new stuff this season, still not interested. Haven't even started them.

Can't see myself growing out of it, just adjusting my taste. There's plenty of mature anime out there

I hope not. I only started watching anime at the end of 2014, a couple months before I turned 18. It wasn't like I had never been exposed to anime before that, I knew what Naruto was (sort of), had heard of Dragon Ball Z by way of the 'over 9000' meme and had a Chinese friend in primary school (like elementary school I think in the US?) who used to bring in manga quite often, though at the time I just remember thinking it was odd that you read it backwards and not much else.

Since I managed for my entire childhood to avoid the thing which I now love more than anything else in the world and spend about 75% of my time consuming, I better not stop enjoying it. I expect my tastes may change; there may come a point where I don't want to watch yet another series set in a school, but at the moment, I love all genres. There are of course anime I am not especially fond of, but it doesn't really have anything to do with what genre they are (with the exception of some magical girl and mecha anime, which I am naturally wary of because so many of them are basically cut-and-paste jobs of earlier series).

If the time comes where I'm no longer happy to get into bed on Saturday and watch like 15 simulcast episodes back-to-back (thanks for that logistical nightmare CR lol), I expect it'll be a somewhat sad day for me. Still, if that does happen, it might mean that I'll just do what normal people do and only watch shows that I am specifically interested in in advance.

For the foreseeable future though, I expect (and hope) that I'll continue to enjoy everything I do at the present.

I don't know about outgrew but tastes might change. When I become a dad (hopefully), availability will be lessened.

I used to like to watch harem and rom com anime ever since I first watched Tenchi Muyo on Toonami as a kid, but as I get older, trying to watch newer stuff like that its just cringey as fuck. I still enjoy 'kiddy' anime like One Piece though, go figure. Alcohol helps.

I can relate because I have seen so many harem animes that if I try to watch to newer stuff like that, I find them very generic and cliche. It is very hard to watch.
